Good morning all, I am getting married September 1, 2017. My finance and I are located in South Florida, but are having family and friends coming from opposite ends of the country (WI, NV, MO, IL, MA, ME) and other countries (Germany, Brazil & Venezuela).

We are sending out invitations the end of this month/beginning of January so everyone has plenty of time to make arrangements, but I'm not sure when I should ask them to have their definite answer to us.

Please & thank you!

ETA: I jumped the gun guys. I get it, save the dates are the way to go. Thank you all for the insight and advise.

@sara Vistaprint often has 50% of their STDs, they can be really affordable if you wait for the right sale.

@CJ, than kyou for that! I've been looking at Shutterfly for that reason.

Girl. Don't send invites for your wedding in January when your wedding is in September, that is ridiculous. This is a time i would suggest a STD - the purpose of an STD is to make arrangements.

Send your invites 8-10 weeks before the wedding, RSVP 2 weeks before your numbers are due, or 3-4 weeks before the wedding

ETA Just saw your update - good! But i'd still have an RSVP option for those who arent tech savvy

@OHP, looking at it now! Thank you!

ETA: We plan no giving those less tech savy people a call and either offering to walk them through it or just let them call us with an answer. I can edit their response from my side too.

Thank you Sara! I knew there must be a piece to the puzzle I was missing. My friend just used online RSVP only and while she had kind of not a great response rate, I know most people do just fine with them.

I am usually not a fan of STDs but I think your case is exactly what they are intended for. Good work!

@AlwaysMs., I agree with you, I kind of see it as like a facebook invite to a party, but we are in contact with most of our guests regularly (FH is in a family chat where most of those overseas people are and constantly ask for more details about the wedding.) So it shouldn't be too hard to kindly remind them to pop on over to our website while they are already scrolling though facebook, LOL. (not saying I'm going to post on facebook to RSVP. I've seen people get ripped new buttholes on here for talking about that.)
