How much time off from work are you taking for your wedding?

Hello! I know this has been asked before but wanted a fresh take on it. How much time off from work are you taking for your wedding? How many of those days are for before your wedding and how many for after?

Our original plan was two days off before (wedding on Saturday) and then the full week after. This worked well because I work at a college and our wedding was supposed to be in late spring during a lull time when no students are on campus.

Then Covid messed everything up. Graduation was moved and our wedding was canceled. We eloped on our original date but I had to work the entire week before and was only able to leave work a couple hours early that Friday. We did still have the week off after, but couldn't really do anything fun or go anywhere because our state was shut down.

Our wedding celebration is planned for this spring but our state hasn't updated guidance since last June so we are debating moving it again.
The only other option we have this year is a Saturday in September, right after classes start, which is a super busy time at work. I doubt I will be able to take more than a couple days off around that weekend.

Im setting up the day before (friday) wedding is Saturday. Clean up is Saturday night + Sunday morning. If I was still working I would take off Friday & Monday. If it was possible I would even take thursday off too.

I’m thinking three weeks! One before the wedding to fly there and acclimate to the time change, and two after for the honeymoon. I work for my dad so that helps. 🙈

I’m getting married Saturday in another state. I took the week of off to travel Tuesday, run last minute errands that had to be done in the state we’re getting married (marriage license, finalizing vendor details, and time for ourselves before family/friends arrive Thursday and Friday). Since we are holding off on a honeymoon I only took Monday off.
In the end it all depends on how much time you have available to take off from work and how much planning and finalizing you can get done before the wedding

Thanks everyone for your comments! I think we are going to start meeting with people from Rover and have them puppy sit at our house.
