How much time will you/did you take off from work for the wedding?

mrswinteriscoming, on June 15, 2021 at 7:06 PM Posted in Planning 0 30

Our wedding is on a Sunday but I know for certain I will take time off work from the Thursday onward because we have a bit of running around to do (Thursday pick up suits/drop off place cards, Friday fake tan and nails, rehearsal plus family gathering, Saturday last minute running around etc).

I want to limit time off from work but I feel like there is so much to do it might be less stressful to have an extra day or two off work.

How long did / will you take off work before the wedding in the leadup to it??

We got married on 4/3/21. I took off from 3/29-4-16. I needed the week before to get the last minute things done (& there’s a TON). We were on our honeymoon from 4/5-4/12 & got home on 4/13. He went back to work on 4/14 & I waited until the following Monday. Soo glad I took those extra days!

I’m blessed to be a teacher so I’m out of school until end of august, but if I wasn’t, I would definitely take 2-3 days off before the wedding and another 2 off after the wedding as well. My husband is in the Navy and he’s taking one day before and the week after off. Hope this helps! And yay for Sunday weddings - ours (1 year anniversary wedding due to covid) is Sunday the 27th! Smiley smile

I took off Thursday and Friday before my Saturday wedding and the Monday after it. As a teacher, I only have 4 personal days a year and needed to save one for my sister-in-laws wedding!

Hmm good question as I'm trying to limit the time off from work as well. I want to maximize my honeymoon! My wedding is on a Sat but with Friday night welcome dinner.. I'm thinking of taking just Fri off for now... I'll also be taking the following Monday off to have some time to recoup Smiley smile

I am only taking one day off before hand since I am having a Tuesday wedding. From Saturday-Monday we can put the last touches on anything we need to. We have access to the venue starting at 10am Monday and will do the rehearsal that evening.

We are planning on taking 2 weeks off total, from the Monday the day before the wedding until the Friday the week following.

I'm taking the day before off and the day of the wedding because mine is on a Friday. Our venue is a drop your stuff off and we will handle it kind of place, so we don't have to worry about setting anything up, so I'm hoping we will just have some little things to do.

I’m debating, so far I’m thinking of taking half a week the week of and the whole week after. I could take the week before and week after but not sure.

My wedding is Saturday November 26,2022. I might take off that Wednesday before or atleast take a half day ( November 23rd) because although I won’t be working Thursday or Friday, with the holidays it will be crazy plus some places might be closed. I will prob get my nails done Wednesday or Friday. I don’t think we will have a lot to do because our venue is all inclusive but it will be nice to have an extra day to relax.

We're getting married on a Friday. I plan to take off that Thursday, leave town Wednesday night. I'll then take your entire next week off for our honeymoon... so 7 days total off work.

We get married on a saturday, and I intend to take from Wednesday off. We segue straight into our honeymoon, so will essentially be out of work for 2 weeks, Wednesday to wednesday.

I work at a start up so I have “unlimited PTO” but even before that I planned to take a full week off. My wedding is 6/26 so I’m taking off 6/19-7/4 (honeymoon right after the wedding). I am having the wedding at my parent’s house and so there is just a lot of set up I want to be there for. We’ll be getting all of our alcohol thag week, testing our sound systems, etc. Just making sure we are good to go. I haven’t taken this much time off work in forever, and so I’m really excited. It also gave me a lot of flexibility in scheduling my beauty appointments. At my last job (just recently got this new job) I didn’t have unlimited PTO, just the standard amount, and nobody batted an eye that I wanted this much time off for the wedding. I even offered to take some of it unpaid because I really did not want to be rushed.

I’m planning on taking off a full week. I work in academics and we’re getting married the weekend before spring break so I won’t use any PTO for our honeymoon.

I took off Thurs and Fri before my Saturday wedding. It was honestly enough time for me and helped me conserve my time off.

Before our minimony I only took off the 2 days before and the 2 days after. For our big wedding I plan on taking off the day before and the complete week after.

Taking 1.5 weeks. Wedding is on a Saturday and only planning to take that Friday before off. My preference is for more time after the wedding for the honeymoon. We fly out Sunday morning for a week. After returning, I’m taking another week off, just because. We decided not to have bridesmaids/groomsmen. As a result, we aren’t doing a rehearsal or rehearsal dinner. On Wednesday I’ll drop items off at the hotel for them to store. I’ll also get my nails done that day (I live in nails back-to-back and know they’ll be perfectly fine, even if done on Tuesday). I don’t want there to be anything left to do after Wednesday besides waiting.

We're getting married on a Friday and I'm only planning on taking Thursday (and Friday, of course) off. I really don't anticipate that many last-minute tasks that I can't do the weekend before or the evenings leading up, and want to save as many PTO days as I can for our honeymoon!

I'm taking the full week of my wedding off. I just want to spend the week getting all my last minute stuff done and make sure everything is in order.

Our wedding is on a Sunday as well and I don't work weekends so I took that Thursday and Friday off. 3 days total if you include Saturday.
