How much to tip- elopement in national park

AEE7, on August 24, 2020 at 8:14 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 3
I’m eloping in Mount Rainier National Park. Paying $700 for my hair and makeup and her travel from Seattle. I know standard tip is 25% but she owns her own business and I’m paying a ridiculous amount already (couldn’t find anyone else so last minute that has a mobile set up). How much would you tip?

    Can you afford a 15% tip? That’s $105.

I’m in the same boat, but my HMUA is $1k since we’re adding in sunrise hours. I was probably going to write her a really nice thank you note, gift her a tumbler with her logo on it, and give an extra $100.

I wouldn't call that fee ridiculous based on what she is providing you (last minute, travel, mobile setup) and the fact that you couldn't find anyone else. Nor would I base my tip on your annoyance at the fee you agreed to and that she owns her own business.

Tipping for hair and makeup is an established practice in the US and prices are set accordingly. If you normally tip 25% for beauty services, then I don't know why you would change your percentage. All of that said, you will have to follow your own conscience here.
