How much weight can you realistically lose in 30 days?

Erin, on August 3, 2017 at 5:58 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 56

I know that the process cannot be rushed and that losing weight is a lifestyle change. I am just wondering how much weight is possible to lose in 30 days? I want to lose weight in a healthy way. Also, what is your best weight loss tip? Thank you to anyone who responds.

Definitely not a fitness guru but if you cut your calories and up your cardio and strength training, you can safely lose between 1-2 lbs a week. I use the myfitnesspal app as it helps you figure a plan to lose those desired lbs by tracking cutting/tracking your calories and fitness. Helps you be more accountable. Hope this gives you a start

1.5 to 2.0 pounds per week is healthy. Larger people sometimes lose a lot more initially though.

Why the 30 day timeframe though? Don't do any binge dieting.

1-2 lbs per week is healthy and sustainable.

Like @Sarah said, if you're 80 lbs overweight, it'll come off faster, especially at the start, but if you're 5 lbs overweight it'll come off more slowly.

I started a meal delivery service two weeks ago that is super convenient and delicious and leaves me really full and I've lost 7 pounds in two weeks (I would like to lose 25 total). I feel awesome and have great energy because it's really clean food so the expense has been worth it to me so far.

I lost 25 pounds (mostly from being very sick) and drinking about 3L of water a day and eating maybe 1000 calories.

Megan- its unhealthy to eat less than 1200 calories a day.

OP, track what you eat, move more. Look to los3 1-2lbs a week but don't be a slave to the scale. Concentrate more on how your clothes fit

I say about 10 pounds. Expect to lost about 2 pounds a week, although the first week you might lose a little more. Counting calories is always simple and free. It's always good to cut out extra sugar like in drinks and snacks. If you can't join a gym, start walking or buy a cheap workout DVD.

Please don't listen to Megan. Eating less than 1,200 calories will put your body in starvation mode. As soon as you increase your calories, you will gain the weight back plus some. Vitamin deficiency and several other health issues can occur from not getting the proper nutrients as well. Possibly talk to your primary care physician about a nutrition plan that is healthy for you.

The ladies on here are right about 1-2, maybe 3 pounds a week. Gluten free works wonders and so does cutting out sugar. You would be amazed. Try doing water and herbal teas for beverages and at least one big salad a day. Dairy is also a big one. Cut it out and watch your bloating go away and the weight will naturally come off. Don't do anything extreme

    WTF megan ?

You lost weight because you were essentially starving yourself. Please keep things like that to yourself, you could actually do some real damage to other people by following your "advice" if that's even what you meant that to be.

Recommendation is 1-2 lb per week but your body may loose more. I once only cut out soda and walked more and lost 5lb the first week.

I try to fit in more exercise throughout the day. Like half an hour in the morning, afternoon and evening even if it just a walk. Better than trying to do it all at once.

Nutrition I cut out dairy (bloating), sweets (empty calories), drink only zero calorie liquids, up my veggies and cut my portions a bit like only one slice of pizza instead of two.

Healthy weight loss is no more than 1-2 lbs per week. Best way to do this is by watching what you eat and working out. Also, change the kind of workout you are doing. If you lift weights, EPOC (exercise post oxygen consumption) is greater which in turn means your metabolism is raised for a long period of time (varies from 12-24 hours). As for the perfect workouts for you, it is hard to say without meeting you and going through a legit consultation and doing some assessments. Try to work out ATLEAST 30 minutes, 5 days a week. This can be split into 10 minute segments if needed.

I have my masters in Exercise Science and currently train people to become personal trainers so...
