How Old Were You When You Got Married?

How old were you when you got married? Do you regret doing it early/waiting? And did your family support you if you were younger?

I am 29 and FH is 32. While every relationship is different, I am so glad I waited and didn’t marry my HS or college boyfriend. I was still finding myself at that point, and have changed a lot since then.

That being said, I wish you and your FH best of luck, and congratulations!

Me and my fiance have known each other for a little over a year. Met July 4th 2017. Started talking in August. Started courting in late September. Was engaged early May of this year. He will be 23 (turning 24 the week or so later) I will be 21 turning 22 ( 2 months later) Both his family and my family is very supportive as well as our church family and everyone else. I believe you can marry young as long as you realize that marriage will come with it's own difficulties but that it is a commitment between you and your future partner that you are making before friends family and the Lord. Or realtionship has been pretty much hands off except the side hugs. We will be having our first kiss come August 31st Lord willing. I don't regret anything about how we have done our relationship. Our main goal was to have a firm solid foundation built on our faith in God and to allow God to direct us. We see each other as a gift that God has given us. By God's grace we have made it this far.

I can totally understand that. We started dating at 15 and 16 and we have both grown tremendously since then. But I have loved basically growing up with him. I got to be at his high-school graduation and next year I'll be at his college graduation. I just think it's so special that we get to do life together. Literally all of the big moments. It isn't for everyone but we all have our own timelines in this life and this just happens to be ours

That is such a wonderful thing if you can find it! My FH and I don’t go as far back as high school but we started dating at 19 and 21 in college. It’s been 2.5 years, and sometimes we talk about what we both were like when we started dating and laugh about it because we both have changed SO much since then. People always change as they “grow up” and a lot of times that means you will grow apart from your partner, but sometimes you grow TOGETHER and that’s the most amazing thing! I love who my FH was when we met, and I somehow love the person he’s grown into even more. It’s lucky to have something like that!

I was 26 and I feel it was perfect timing. We had been together 7 years so we weren't rushing into it.

I will be 3 months shy of 34 when we finally tie the knot. We will have been together for nearly 4 years. But we've known since we met that we were done testing the waters and had found the right fish for us. I can't wait to marry him!

I think it depends on the couple. Some people are mentally just too young, no matter their physical age. There are some friends of mine who, I feel, are too young to be married, but that's because they aren't mature in other manners of their lives. And then there are others that I am very pleased have found the one for them.

Both my FH and I will be 23 when we get married in March; engaged at 22. Both of our families couldn't be more happy especially his family. We have been best friends for the past 10 years and have been dating for almost 2 years.

I will be 31 and he will be 33. We have been together 2 years, living together for about 1.5 years. I think it’s perfect timing, we’ve each lived our young adult lives and have had other relationships that have taught us a lot about ourselves and what we need and want in a life partner. We are also ready to start trying for kids immediately after.

We will both be 24 when we get married ( we were born the same day 😜) we will have been together since we were 15 ❤️ We decided waiting until we were financially ready even though we would have eloped at 18 if we could’ve 😊

In a way our stories are similar, well with my second husband anyway. With my first husband I was about 23 and he was 32 and we got married then for one I was pregnant and I thought I loved him. We ended up getting divorced in 2003. My husband now is the absolute love of my life. I was 39 when we first started talking and he was 38. On July 25, 2017, I started talking to my husband, then about about a week later I met him for the first time. December 1st we got engaged. May 19th we got married. I will be 42 soon and he will be 41 soon after. The first marriage was a complete failure and had nothing to do with God!! But with this second marriage it have everything to do with God because of how I met my second husband and I thank God every single day for my very loving, caring, supportive, and just the right person that my boys need in their lives.

My fiance and I have been together for 6+ years so when we were 26 and 27. We have two kids now, and we legally married when we were 31 and 32 (but we kept it secret) and we are having a real wedding and reception for our friends and family next year when we will be 33 and 34. I feel like an old bride but we went through a lot and weren't ready to get married when we were younger (even though we both knew it would happen one day).

I am 19 and my FH is 20. We've been together for almost 5 years. We're both making the Army a career for ourselves and seem that it is the best option for us both. The test of our relationship was his deployment, which made us stronger. We have been long distance the entire relationship.. I don't think anyone cares honestly.
