How should I style my hair for a wedding?

I can't remember which show I saw it on but a few years ago on some wedding show the bride had a hairstyle that was up for the ceremony and then she cut a piece of clear string and it was half down for the reception and it looked so awesome but I have no idea what it is called or how that works or if that is even an option for "real life" when you don't have TV hair people on set.

Half down, with a sparkly comb. I think my hId is one of my best features: red and wavy and don't want to lose that.

I'm doing half up half down.

Definitely all up. The weather is calling for it to be hot on Saturday.

@Nikki - Ooooh, both look so nice but I love the low bun option! Especially with the braid and addition of the birdcage veil, I feel like it will look really classy

All down!

All up! If there's one thing I hate, it's fussing with my hair. I want it up and pinned within an inch of it's life so I don't have to worry about anything frizzing, losing curl, etc. I'm sure it would look beautiful at least partially down...for like 5 minutes

Up for sure. My hair is super thick. I don't want it hanging and cooking me to death.

I'm actually doing all down. I'm not an updo or a half up kinda girl

I'm doing my hair up. I always end up with it up just to get it out of the way anyway.

I think I'm going to go with half up. I like the way I look with my hair down, but I know if I leave it all down, it'll just end up annoying me. I'm going to need it away from my face so I'm not messing with it all night. I haven't decided an exact hairstyle yet though.

I still can't decide!!! My dress is strapless and I feel like a low updo (which is what I really want) would show to much of my back fat so I'm thinking half up.
