How should your wedding band fit?

Spirit, on September 23, 2016 at 5:12 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 9

Right, question: when we ordered our wedding bands, the girl at the jewelry shop said it's supposed to fit a little tight - which made sense at the time, because it's not supposed to be able to slip off.

She sized my finger and we ordered our pretty engraved bands, and now I can't help but think that it fits a little bit too snug. I'm trying to justify it in my head that the weather was hot when we ordered them, and fingers get smaller in colder weather so we were looking at worst case scenario. Besides, I thought, it would help keep my e-ring in place, which fits just a teeny bit loose. But it's still a bit... tight, and I'm not sure if it's supposed to feel that way. I got almost no help from people I asked.

I can't twist it on my finger. The weather is still quite warm. It doesn't feel too uncomfortable, but it's not comfortable either.

Any help please? I know this thread is vague and subjective as fuck, but did anyone else have the same concerns?

Being able to twist it around would be good! I feel like if it's tight now, you'll definitely have to re-size it later on in life as your body changes.

Just take it back and have it resized after the wedding...since you don't have too much time

When I worked at a jewelry store I used to give people this simple method. you should be able to slip it on easily and slip it off when you straighten your finger. someone else should be able to put the ring on fairly easily, but not be able to tug it off

Seriously what purpose did it serve them to sell your poorly sized rings. I would complain cause now u have to pay for sizing

I'd rather give her the benefit of the doubt and assume she didn't know any better because maybe she's new or something. Anyway I'll give them a call on Monday morning (forgot I'm going away tomorrow) and ask if they can have it resized in under a week so we don't rush around last minute.

    Thanks guys, you rock!

You definitely don't want it so snug that it won't slip on easily during the ceremony! Good luck

It shouldn't be too tight, bc then if you're hot and your finger swells it will be *really* too tight. They should be able to fix it for your quickly - or you could get it resized after the wedding so you don't feel rushed. As long as he's able to put the ring on your finger and you can wear it comfortably at your wedding, I don't think you need to rush. Good luck! Smiley smile
