How soon is too soon to start Wedding Registry? My Wedding is in April 2020

Hey Ladies, is it too soon for me to create my registry? I just want to knock this To-Do List down. We have been living together for a long while now so I don't know what exactly we will need as far as the house goes.

I don’t think it’s too soon!! I started ours and we’re June 2020, I just haven’t made it public yet. And I would be careful with the honeymoon funds...I know Zola takes a percentage of the money which I personally would not want.

Jordan, awesome. I think it may get started. We don't need a lot anyway.

Honestly the sooner the better so you can pick things slowly. The idea of having to pick everything for a home at once makes me extremely anxious but then that’s just me! Keep in mind you do run the risk of things getting discontinued if you have such an early registry but you can save a few back ups in case this happens.

I would definitely go ahead and get started! I set ours up in May. We don't live together, but have both been on our own for some years, and I bought a house 3 years ago. I'm using this as an excuse to upgrade what I bought when I moved into my first apartment. We are donating everything we are replacing to Goodwill, animal shelters (all of my old kitchen towels!), etc. so someone will still use them. Smiley smile We have registries at Target, Crate & Barrel, and Wanderable. Out of everything we registered for, only 1 thing has been discontinued in the last 4-5 months!

Ours is almost done. If you want to upgrade anything, now is the time to add it. We are sending out the save the dates with the Zola website and registry, so we want to make those available. I heard through the grapevine that some people want to get engagement gifts, but we are certainly not asking for them!

It looks like most of these websites charge a credit card fee. With Zola, you decide whether the registrants absorb the fee and get less money or the guests pay the credit card fee. Since we have registered for some charities, I am getting the guests to pay. It's 2.5%.
