How soon should i notify guest (destination wedding)

Mariah, on September 16, 2019 at 4:55 PM Posted in Planning 0 6

I’m getting married September 2021 in Jamaica (aprox 2 years from now) I want to give my guest as much time as possible to pay for their trip. When is the earliest I should inform my guest to make travel arrangements? I feel a lot of my family will honestly need the entire 2 years to make payments without interfering with there own priorities.

As soon as possible. Just be prepared for people not be able to make a firm commitment this soon. I love destination weddings!

Granted we only gave everyone a year notice. Our wedding is super small and still in the states. I would say spread it maybe by word of mouth for now. We told a lot of people from beginning, and made our wedding to a if you can make it great thing at that time when we first started talking about it. because you will have some people that flat out tell you they wont be able to make it others will give you a maybe. And a few will flat out tell you yes. doing a DW took our guest list from 88 people down to a final number of 25

I would send out save the dates 10-12 months in advance. You can start telling people via word of mouth ASAP, but I would only tell immediate family and VIPs. You don’t want to start telling friends and commit to inviting them this early.

    Hey Mariah!

For a destination wedding, it is recommended that you send your Save-The-Dates to your guests between eight and twelve months before your wedding.

As the pp mentioned, you can tell family members as soon as you wish, but sending your official STDs can be round twelve months in advance.

What made you decide to get married in Jamaica?😍

I would definitely tell your VIPs now. People you are 100% sure you will invite. Then send Save the Dates at 1 year out!

I think as soon as possible, I think you should send out your save the date soon and make it cute and related to a destination
