How to accept that it’s over?!??

Kristen, on September 21, 2019 at 10:31 AM Posted in Married Life 0 27
I got married on August 3rd and it was everything I had dreamed of and more. I recently got all of my pictures and my videos back and it is so incredible to look back on everything! My only problem is-it is just now hitting me that everything is over and it makes me SO sad. Anyone else experiencing this and can tell me how they cope? 😂

That will be me girlfriend, when it’s all over!! I’m on the flip side on cloud 9 just after engagement.

I’ll probably begin to plan a big trip or something to manage the after wedding hangover. Soo glad your wedding went well, it’s nice to see all the planning pay off, your pics are beautiful!

Your photos are beautiful! That rainbow picture is seriously goals. I'm already concerned about having the same issue and my wedding is 2 months away. I mean I get sad when Christmas is over and it comes every year, I can't imagine how I'll feel once the wedding passes. We're planning a trip in the spring so I'll have that to work on this winter. My best advice is to find another project to focus your attention on. Maybe work on photo albums first, then look into planning a trip, party, maybe redecorate a room in your house.

Thank you so much! We did just buy 2 puppies so they have been keeping us busy! And starting to get our pictures up around the house. 🙂 I hope you have the best wedding ever-make sure to take time to really soak it all in. I was so nervous all morning before the ceremony and once 4pm hit it was like I blinked and it was all over. Really savor every single moment !!!

    It is absolutely breath taking.

Congratulations! All the pictures are beautiful.

Sorry no advice on how to cope because mine is over a year away but yeah I can imagine why you are missing it!

I’m the exact opposite! I’m so glad the wedding is over and that I don’t have it taking up every weekend and every free second of my free time. I told my husband that I never want to plan a wedding again lol. I think it also helps that we’re in the process of building a house so that gives us something to occupy our time with. But so far I’m enjoying having nothing to do on the weekends haha

Your pictures are beautiful! Try not to think about it as the wedding being over, but instead as this new chapter in your relationship is just beginning. We got married in July, and while it seemed surreal for that day to go by so quickly after all that time planning, we were also just so giddy to be newlyweds. I smile everytime I say husband because I know this is just the start of even more years together. As others have said, distraction can be effective to. I've also got plenty of that from being in a doctorate program lol.

I went from planning the wedding, to trying to plan a suprise 50th wedding anniversary party for my grandparents and surprise 50th birthday party for my mom. Those have both fallen through but now we're planning for our baby's arrival in February! I love planning stuff so having other things to focus on is great!

Beautiful pics. It's called the post wedding blues. It's so common and something so unexpected. I'd say find another project to focus on Smiley smile

    Omg, the rainbow pic!!! 🌈 😮 ❤️

We were exhausted & over-budget, plus we had a DW & local reception so we seriously enjoyed NO wedding planning/spending for 6 months. Then I got a bit bummed.

Will you host a holiday celebration this year as newlyweds? Enjoy planning & decorating! If you really love the wedding planning, you could get a part-time job in the industry (I worked in a bridal shop part-time after our wedding. So fun!).

Your pictures are beautiful! LOVE the rainbow picture! I’m worried about this as well. I’ve been dreaming of my wedding since I was about 5 years old so I know I’ll be sad when it’s over. Married friends have just told me to focus on other things (like planning a trip, party, etc) when the wedding is over to help yourself “cope”.

Your pictures look BEAUTIFUL! I especially love your hair!

I got married the day after you and I was really worried I'd feel super sad when it was over, but actually I've been mostly just relieved that I don't have to worry about wedding stuff anymore! 😂I will say that during the times I do feel a little sad that it's over, I allow myself to indulge that feeling for a little bit by looking at wedding photos, and then I focus on all the things and hobbies I have so much more TIME for now that I'm not wedding planning, and I think about how amazing being married feels. There's also so much my husband and I still have to look forward to in our marriage, and I remember those things and get excited for them too. These feelings will pass, and when they do, you'll have married life to enjoy!

I'm sorry, I don't have any advice as to cope with the fact that it's over (my wedding isn't until August 2020), but I have to ask - What color are the groomsmen's boutonnieres?? My bridesmaids' dresses are light pink (darker than yours), and I was thinking of doing yellow/white flowers (similar to yours). If the groomsmen have pink ties, I was wondering if giving them pale yellow boutonnieres would look funky, and if I should give them pink boutonnieres instead, and I was excited to see that maybe you have similar colors.

    Beautiful pics. Congrats!

I'm still this way and even more so now that we are coming up on the 1 year mark in a month! I so wish I could do it all over again!

    BTW I love the sunflowers!
