How to add more shape into my dress to emphasize my waist more!? (look more like the shape of dress #2)

Olivia, on December 29, 2023 at 5:59 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 3

I bought one dress and love everything about it EXCEPT the shape looks so flat on me, and I can't stop thinking about one runner up dress just for its shape and how it emphasizes my waist. I'm definitely keeping the dress I bought (the second one was wayyyy too booby no matter what we tried and I do love my dress in every way except the shape lol)

Dress 1, which I bought (Martina Liana #1598). Should I just try a crinoline underskirt or is there anything else I can do with the seamstress, or for me to buy or ask for, that can help mirror the shape more!?
(Note- I'm getting straps added similar to the shape as in the first picture!):How to add more shape into my dress to emphasize my waist more!? (look more like the shape of dress #2) 1
Close up (not getting these straps!)

Dress 2: (also Martina Liana)

Thanks in advance for ideas!!

A crinoline underskirt should achieve your goal. Maybe with the slight v shape, the seamstress could help make the dress flare out at the sides just above the V -- if at all helpful.

Definitely look at some crinoline or a petticoat to poof the skirt out a bit. Also experiment with a belt. Adding a little sparkly belt to my dress made such a huge difference on defining my waist!

You can try a crinoline but many are still going to be somewhat flat because they don’t have their own structure and whatever sits on top will flatten them as if you don’t have one. Ask your seamstress about a hoop skirt but try one on before you decide to purchase.
