I know this is not everyone’s tastes, but I am trying to incorporate skulls or skeletons into our wedding while still having it be a formal event and not a Halloween party. I also do not feel like spending any more money. So ideas that would cost under $300 would be appreciated. We are having probably around 220 guests, so it will not be associated into a favor. Our escort cards will double as the favor (see below). Our wedding color is purple, but there will also be orange. Attached to here are pictures of the venue. It is called “The Crystal Room” and yeah it’s a little outdated but when it’s dark it looks nice with all the crystals and lights Smiley smile

But, do you have any ideas on how to incorporate skulls/skeletons into our wedding but still have it be elegant? It would make me very happy!

I am very impressed with FH's skills finding that and ordering it because it's perfect (for me)!!

Sweet, I'll try doing that tree for the escort card table. Thanks!

Sugar Skulls. I think they are the classiest way you'll get skulls

    I'm here!! LOL!

Ana, I'm having a Halloween wedding. So I guess (according to you) I'm tacky. You can have this type of wedding without being tacky or creepy. Mine is going to be classy.

For our centerpieces, we got the trees at Michaels and the skulls at Walmart. I also made the table numbers out of red card stock that I put black glittery numbers on which will hang from one of the branches. And I'm having silver chains around the trees like garland. I'll post a picture of it when it's finished.

Our cake is going to have skulls airbrushed on it and our cake topper is a skeleton bride & groom (we got it on ebay for $40).

And of course our invitations (which I just mailed out on Monday!!!) have a skeleton bride & groom on it.

Thanks! I'll have to go check out those trees. And FMIL is getting us the cake topper, but I'm already tried to use one of those "Love Never Dies" figurines on ebay, like the one you pictured. I don't care much for the cake topper so I am leaving that up to FH to pick one. And I'm excited to see your cake! I've seen one like that on Pinterest that I absolutely love. Still haven't figured out our cake!

This is not my taste and my grandma might be offended, but maybe finding something with the silhouette of a skeleton might be a little more classy.

Nicole - My FMIL is an old school Portuguese lady (and strict Catholic). If anyone would be offended, it would be her. She wasn't offended by anything we're doing for the wedding.

Pankcakes: GASP! That ring box!!!!! I love it.

Ruth: GREAT trees with skulls! I think its great!

As to the original question, Michaels or JoAnne's might have some tasteful and inexpensive skull related items, although I think the sugar skulls might be the "classiest", it would depend on what fits your budget. I hope you find what you're looking for!

(ps, i can't wait to see pictures!)

    Hello!

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! It's an exciting time and I'm glad you're weaving your personality into your day. If you're interested, I photographed a wedding that was gothic-inspired. The couple had glass skulls, vases, and even their cake had skulls on it! It was pretty awesome. I'm pretty sure she found a good portion of her decor on etsy.com If you'd like to see her decor, feel free to click the link below. Good luck and best wishes to you! -Jill

..... Do we need a Mr. & Mrs. sign?? I didn't think about that, either! We are having a sweetheart table. But I figured that wasn't an expense that would be important to us so we weren't going to do one.

Surfergirl - looking them up now, thanks Smiley smile

I saw clear glass skulls at AC Moore. Not sure if there's an AC Moore in your area.

Tone on tone is a really great subtle way to incorporate things so that it's there but not in your face. If your table cloths are white, maybe ivory skull shaped sequins or same thing with garland curtains on a white wall. But sugar skulls are definitely gorgeous when done by the right artist and can really actually mean a lot as dedication to loved ones (that have departed) BUT! can still have a positive tone Smiley smile
