How to add some camo to your wedding

Cambrea, on October 5, 2013 at 2:44 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 15

My wedding date is 2/25/15.

I am having a rustic country theme but my problem is how can I add some camo touches to my wedding. He wants to wear camo and so does his grooms men but I am a big city girl so I am not wanting to go all redneck on our wedding. I have googled and really done almost everything to figure it out but all the internet has showed me was huge camo/redneck weddings

Since your wedding is in Feb., you could do the winter camo which is mostly white.

The favors can be tied with camo ribbon. The grooms cake, your garter, little things like that

If he's willing to do a touch of camo (neutral vest) see about a camo cummerbund, camo pocket square, camo tie, or camo socks. He can also wear a camo patterned T-Shirt under the dress shirt, which can be shown later in the reception or during photos with his GM. The tux should be a solid color. You can carry theme through the rest of the event by using a color scheme of olive/khaki green and cream (in solids, not the conventional camo pattern). You can add a third color like chocolate, gold, or black.

I'm doing this exact thing for my wedding. FH would love to have camo as a wedding color, but NO WAY! Lol I'm a city girl too Smiley smile So we are just adding some touches of camo throughout. He's doing a brown vest and a brown-camo bow tie (so is the ring bearer). His wedding ring is camo. His groom's cake is camo. And I hand-made a garter that had camo in it, along with our wedding colors. I'm adding just enough to make him happy, while still keeping the camo out of the main colors. I agree with Nancy, you could do the white/winter camo and it would look really pretty. I'll attach a couple pictures of what we're doing so that you can get an idea!

ETA: I would choose colors that coordinate with the camo you decide on. Our colors are teal, yellow, and chocolate so the yellow and chocolate coordinate perfectly (we're also doing sunflowers - which match as well). The teal doesn't go with it as much, but it still looks cute together IMO.

Yea he wants to wear the camo vest with the bright orange tie. And his ring is camo also but see my color scheme is throwing me off because it's a winter wedding so I want the winter colors but camo and bright orange isn't looking that great. I really don't want everything to clash

Well does he have to wear the bright orange? The white camo is really pretty and he could wear a black vest and the white camo tie, or even wear a white camo vest and tie. That would fit in really well with winter colors and he would still have his camo. My FH was willing to compromise with me on where all we were having camo. Is he willing to nix the bright orange? Unfortunately the bright orange is not even close to a winter color, so I really think it would clash no matter how you tried to put it in.

ETA: picture. If he did the winter camo like this then it would look really good! You could do the vest with a white or black tie, the tie with a black vest, or could keep them both the camo.

They do make winter camo (white camo), maybe that could be your compromise. He could have the guys wear the white camo vests with solid white ties... that way he gets his camo and it doesn't interfere with your color scheme. =)

Tell him to go to Jos. A. Bank. They are the tuxedo renters that have all of the cammo patterns for the men in the wedding, including the winter cammo. I'm from S. GA, so I have seen more than my share of cammo added into weddings somehow. It can be tastefully incorporated. Thank God my FH isn't much of a hunter, so all I have to worry about is getting his Jimmie Johnson groom's cake (lol).

@Jennifer.... Oh my dear lord....I have no words.

I went to a wedding with a camo theme, and it was amazingly elegent for being in a field. They used a lot of camo ribbon, and their bouquets and center peices were dried flowers and twigs wrapped in camo ribbon, and it looked so beautiful..
