How to anticipate rain - North Carolina

Alanna, on June 4, 2019 at 3:15 PM Posted in North Carolina Planning 0 3

Our potential wedding dates are Sep 12, Nov 14, or OCTOBER 31! This will be in Asheville NC- I would hate rain more than anything, so has anyone 1) gotten married in Asheville during those times or has a suggestion? 2) Would a halloween date be weird?

I feel like November would have the best leaves, but would probably be too cold

September might have more rain than November, but would be warm nights

Any thoughts?

It's pretty easy to look up the weather history for any area. With a simple Google search, it looks like your best bet precipitation wise is October. I don't think that a Halloween wedding is weird, but would probably avoid it if you have lots of guests will small children. Most parents I know wouldn't miss trick or treating with their little ones for a wedding.

    Hi Alanna!

Welcome to the WeddingWire community Smiley smile

As the PP mentioned, it's super easy to look up previous weather history online. While this is not 100% reliable, and nothing will be, it will give you an indication of what to expect on those dates weather wise Smiley smile

I think a Halloween wedding would be awesome. There are two really interesting discussions happening with couples getting married on October 31st you should check out -

    Halloween wedding? Yes or no?

If you and your FS did choose to have your wedding on October 31st, do you think you would do a Halloween theme with dark and moody colors, or what colors would you lean toward?

Hey Alanna! We JUST booked our wedding on Halloween 2020. Fell in love with a venue and it was the only Saturday in our range they had left... I was so conflicted too! I do not plan to even acknowledge the fact that it’s Halloween that day LOL. I’ve never been big into Halloween, but love that time of year and it’s absolutely gorgeous (usually) in NC. We don’t have many guests with young children, so we were okay knowing that they may RSVP no to be home with kids Smiley smile also just consider the fact that your anniversary will always be on Halloween! We decided we didn’t mind this at all, can always celebrate on a different day, etc. I think if you know your guests and what’s important to you and are OK with the implications, then Halloween is totally fine!
