How to cancel vendors

While I know many vendors are probably use to this by now due to covid, is it more polite to call and cancel with a follow up email or is an email enough to cancel the contracts?

Our plans changed and we no longer need the original vendors.

I emailed all of mine. Gave it a paper trail and helped me double check all that I had already communicated with.

I agree with create a paper trail. A single email is less time consuming for them and less awkward

Email is best for keeping a trail. If you’re actually breaking your contract many may not allow you to, keep that in mind.
