How to cover glass doors in church!?

Stephanie, on August 20, 2016 at 12:29 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 14

Our church has glass doors from the lobby leading into the church. I know they will be closed before I enter, but I hate knowing everyone will see me before they open! Any ideas on how to cover them up??

They won't truly see you behind the glass doors per say. I wouldn't cover them because that helps build up the suspense of knowing you are coming. But if you absolutely want to cover them, what about tulle?

They are top to bottom, full panel of glass, so they will definitely see me! I will really need some tulle or something Smiley smile

I agree with PP tulle or some type of sheer drapes

Some sort of draping, lace, white fabric, etc would be nice!

Just some ideas, big paper flowers of various sizes scatter on the doors, pretty beads curtains, one or two big flower wreaths?

You could easily make some door wraps, TBH. Get some lace (tulle is going to be awfully sheer) and measure twice the height of the door, plus 3". Sew together with a 1/2" seam, and then slip over the doors where it covers them from top to bottom on both sides. You could even gather them slightly in the center, and tie a ribbon now around them for a "sneak peek" as you walk by.

I love @mna's idea! It would be so pretty and your guests (and FH) would be able to get a small peek while you waited to enter, building the suspense!

Maybe large foam or paper flowers like a flower wall... Decorative and provides privacy.

Stand to the side of the doors and then when they open, you move to the opening.

Thanks everyone! LOL Nancy, there are 4 sets of doors, I can't hide from this one! I'll post when I come up with something that is approved by the church Smiley smile

This is the only photo I could find since I wasn't sure how to describe it! Maybe use a nice fabric in your colors with a lace bow?
