The walls at our reception site are green, and it doesn't really go with our color scheme and decor, so i was wanting to cover the walls somehow with fabric or something but the thing is i'm not sure how to do that and do it on a budget simply and inexpensive. Please help! lol

Yes I agree that it is technically stealing but from working at walmart it happens ALL the time.. and if its not damaged they will just resell it anyways.

Just because it happens all the time where you work doesn't mean it's ok. (and, if the store is selling it as new merchandise, then they are deceiving their customers, and that's not ok either.) it's called stealing, not just 'technically', but in every way. stealing is illegal and unethical. if you're unsure about whether it's ok, think about whether you'd tell a child if it's ok or not...and then follow that same advice.

If you do any kind of drapery, make sure it's fire rated. You should use an Inherently Flame Retardant, or Flame Retardant.

So anyways, back to the girls question, which she already decided on. (Gotta love the retail rescuers) My walls are green as well, kind of like a floral green. I am leaving them just as is too. My colors are black, white, silver, and pink. I was a little reserved at first about it but then I started to look past it at what everything will look like and it made me realize that it's OK, no one will be worried about the color of the walls as much as whats for dinner and what kind of bee we have.

I assure you your venue will allow you to do lighting sooner than they'll allow you to attach stuff to their walls. As others have said you need to contact an event planning company and request quotes on pipe and drape. Some places even have pricing on their websites so as long as you have the room dimensions you can get a pretty good idea of what this should cost. Leave this one to the professionals b/c it will be very time consuming!

The cheap crafty way is to do uplighting and skip the pipe and drape - while it looks fabulous, if its not in your budget, don't bother. Uplighting can be done and no one would be the wiser. If you go and pick up the lighting yourself and return it to the rental location, you'll save. I think you'll love the effect just as much, especially if your tabletops and seating are done beautifully. Have questions? Email me - my first consultation is free.

Do you have a picture of the venue?

if you try to cover the walls it might cost you a lot of money/work... more stress on your wedding date.

You should work with it instead of hide it. I.E: if you use spot lights for the center pieces and the light in the room is lower. You'll focus the guess attention to the tables and not the walls.

Went to a wedding where they hung tulle or netting from extendable suspension curtain roads with white lights behind. At night, it was a nice touch, very lovely, and the venue liked it so much they bought them afterwards! no holes in walls.

RETAIL RESCUERS? Are you kidding? There IS no in between here.

Stealing is stealing. How would YOU like to buy something you THOUGHT was new and never used, just to find out differently?

Wow... Its one thing to buy something and sell it on ebay afterwards to recoup the loss but returning it to the store seems wrong to me. Do you try and return your shoes when you get tired of wearing them?
