How to do your own wedding makeup

I don't typically wear makeup, so I am definitely hiring a makeup artist for my wedding lol. You can always do a makeup trial run by yourself, and if you're happy with the results, do your own makeup! Otherwise, you can do a trial with a potential makeup artist to see if they can do what you're looking for, and make the decision after the trial.

I just did my makeup trial and my aunt (hairstylist who does many weddings) says it's so so so important to have your makeup professionally done. You want it to be a little extra because photography does wash you out a little so you need that extra oomph to really see the makeup in photos. I'm also terrible at doing my own and could never do anything close to what my makeup artist did. I know it's an extra cost but you will have these photos for the rest of your life and want to look back and be as happy as you can with them.

I do not normally wear makeup and fully planned on having a makeup artist do mine the day of, but since we are having a minimony in a couple weeks, I decided I didn't want to spend the additional money for a tiny ceremony and dinner, so my bridesmaids will help me do it. If it comes out great, maybe we will even do that for our big wedding next year, or maybe I'll splurge for the professional makeup. Definitely if you are worried, do a couple test runs on yourself, or have someone close to you help you out before you decide!

It's also nice to be pampered on your wedding day. However, it depends on if you're happy with how the makeup artist does your makeup. I don’t wear That much makeup so I’m definitely doing it myself because I’ve never seen anyone get their makeup done for a wedding and still look like themselves. Also im fearful they won’t have makeup in my skin tone and I don’t want them experimenting. I will be paying for everyone to get their hair done though. Makeup, we’ll all do ourselves.

Ive only worn makep twice in my life. I will most likely do my own.

I did my own makeup (and hair) because we got married at sunrise and after hours fees were ridiculous, and also because I’m pretty comfortable doing it myself. I did watch some YouTube tutorials and spent $$ on trying some different (and higher end) products, but overall I’m completely happy with how it turned out.

I asked my older sister to do my makeup as she is far more experienced. It gave us a nice moment together and we did a trial run beforehand as well. We also have the same coloring so we just used the stuff she already had. It worked really well.

I mean if you don't have the budget for it then do it yourself but I think you need to tell yourself that you only get this one day and he wanted to be perfect. At the end of the day I can do my own makeup and look good but I want a professional that is really going to make me look Bridal and really make me look good for the picture. Not to scare you but you don't get this day back so I feel like if you can afford it go big or go home hahaha. I really think you should get a makeup artist that's going to make you look Flawless because at the end of the day what my makeup artist did for me is much better than I could do for myself so it's worth the investment.

I’m getting it done professionally. While I am able to do my own make up fairly well for standard events, getting married isn’t an everyday event nor will I be wearing and everyday outfit. I want to look extra!

It was really fun to just sit and relax and be pampered with hair and makeup.

I did my own for our engagement pictures & I think it turned out pretty good so I am considering doing it myself. I’m still on the fence!

Some people are gifted and others aren't which is ok even with all the tutorials in the world. I can do very basic makeup on my own but not special event caliber that will be heavily photographed. I'm more than willing to budget money for a professional which includes trials.

I'm doing mine just because I've gotten it professionally done before and just didn't look that great at all. I know how I want it done lol.

I've decided to do my own because the last time I had it done professionally it didn't look like me at all even though I told the artist what look I was wanting I believe that to get what you want you should do it yourself
