How to fuse two wedding ideas into one

It sounds lovely! If you google "rustic elegance wedding theme", a lot of things come up that may be helpful (and it looks like you already have some of these decorating ideas nailed down). To merge the two themes together a little more, I'd suggest the following: (1) have your fiance and his groomsmen wear dark blue jeans (instead of regular color blue jeans) and new boots (not boots he has worked in or wears often). The vest and tie already sounds like a good plan; (2) for BBQ, choose foods that can be eaten with a fork (think brisket, pulled pork, etc. instead of food eaten with your hands - ribs, etc.) and elevated sides (roasted potatoes, grilled brussel sprouts, corn salad, etc.). Those are just suggestions, but regardless, I think you are well on your way to nailing your theme!

These are actually two commonly combined themes, so I don't think you'll have an issue pulling it off. As PP said, search for similar ideas online (I recommend Pinterest) and you'll find lots of ways to pull these themes together.

I would say incorporating your rustic with the elegant parts will help tie your vision together. Sounds like you just need to combine them as you already have a handle on each idea. Your vision seems like a great combination of each
