How to get wrinkles out of polyester tablecloths?

We are planning on steaming them.

I spritzed them with downy wrinkle release and then tossed 2 at a time in the dryer on high for 15-20 minutes and then laid out flat to cool on a bed in our guest room. I was able to just leave them on the bed until the night before when we went to the venue to setup.

I think washing them would be the fastest and easiest way. I would do a delicate cold wash and then delicate cold dry or air dry if possible. Then once fully dry stick it in the dryer in cold for about 5 minute to soften up and you might not even have to iron them. Just make sure not to wash to many at the same time so it doesn’t wrinkle.

My sister said she put them in the dryer with ice cubes and they came out perfect.

Also, if you don't want to spend the money on wrinkle releaser, you just add a tablespoon of fabric softener to every 8 ounces of water and mix it up then ta da! You have homemade wine releaser! (Im a nurse who HATES to iron and have been doing this for several years to make my scrubs look crisp and fresh).

If i try washing them and hang drying first, would the wrinkle release help after that, or would I be sealing the creases in by doing a cold wash first?
