It seems like this is a difficult question to ask on here because a lot of people doubt the idea of having an affordable wedding. It seems like this is a difficult question to ask on here because a lot of people doubt the idea of having an affordable wedding. I've read multiple posts on here telling the OP that it's impossible and the only thing they can do it cut corners and shorten the guest list to 30 people max. I have only just started planning my wedding so I know things will add up fast. I started with just writing down who I want on the guest list and looking at a few venues to get ideas and pricing. So far I've included around 100 people on my guest list, but that could change in 3 years time. I found 2 venues that are wonderful. One for the ceremony and another for the reception. The ceremony is $100 to rent. So that works great for the budget. The reception might be around $1500-2k depending on which menu option we choose. Other than that we haven't gone any further in detail, but we have researched things we can cut because it will be something no one will miss.

Hey Folks, any budget friendly places/venues for NY brides??? It doesn't have to be in NYC, but can be in NY state, Hudson Valley, the Catskills, NJ, Westchester, and the outer boroughs!

    Thanks!

The budget will also depend on where you're getting married, for example I know that CA can be way more expensive.

I'm in MI, planning a wedding for 100 guests for $10,000 and I'm thankfully under budget so far Smiley heart

One thing I would recommend saving on (a lot of people might hate me for this) is the dress. Look in the clearance section, look for one second hand. My dress was 50% off just because a few of the beads were loose! I get that it's your big day and everything, but in the end it's just a dress that you wear for a couple months and then stick in a box for the rest of your life.

It's doable! My husband and I set our budget at $10,000 and were under budget at $7,200. We had our ceremony at our church and reception at our local fire hall.

You can do your wedding within your budget. Do your research on the things that you would like to have at your wedding and if like to do diy projects, they can help with the cost. It can be done.
