How to have Courthouse Wedding?

Alicia Carson, on April 12, 2019 at 12:55 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 6
My fiance and I do not have the money for a big expensive wedding, so we have decided to get married at the courthouse. Originally 4 years ago i was plannning a wedding in the park, but i got pregnant, and now we just want something simple with a few geusts. We live in Lancaster, PA. Does anyone know how to go about getting married at the courthouse in Lancaster Pa? How many people areare you allowed to have there? Do they only do walk ins or can you make an appointment? Are you allowed to have someone take pictures? Or should I just apply for the marriage license and try to find an officiant to marry us in the park?

I would start by calling the courthouse. They can answer all of those questions for you, unless someone on here has done this already! A courthouse is a great option because some are so beautiful and you can get great pics! Congrats and good luck.

A friend of mine is a judge and she allows wedding pics, but she's not in PA. Call your local courthouse, they'll fill you in!! And if you don't like what they say, do the park setting. Best of luck!!

Every city and state is different. You'll need to call your local clerks office and ask what they allow. Good luck!!

You could probably look online, they should have a FAQs page.

I live in CA and an having a courthouse wedding. The courthouse I have chosen has room for 100 guests and all I did was go onto their website to see if my date was available and we had to fill out paperwork because it is a historical building. But they should have a link on their website where you can book it.

I'd call or go to the courthouse. They will be able to answer all of your questions to put your mind at ease. Once you know the details, you can plan what day, time, etc for your wedding. You could always have a lunch with guests afterwards if they don't allow them for the ceremony.
