How to include my nieces in the ceremony! *HELP*

ena, on January 17, 2013 at 3:23 PM Posted in Planning 0 8

So I have two nieces that live out of state but are coming in for the wedding. My sister (and my nieces) is asking me how they can be involved in the actual ceremony and I have no clue what to have them do!! They're 17 and 14. I haven't seen them in years since they moved back there about 9 years ago. We only keep in contact through FB. idk what to do. any suggestions?

Maybe they could each do a short reading?

Well, first can I ask you if you even want them to be a part of your ceremony?? Not trying to sound harsh It sounds as if this was kind of a "Suprise" to you and that it wasn't planned?? Anywhow, maybe the 14 year old could be a JR. BM and the 17 year old could be a guest book attendant?? Good Luck. Smiley smile

We had FH nephews be ushers. They got the programs showed up at the church early seated everyone in their proper side and handed out programs.

They can pass out your programs to your guest as they enter and be greeters like P.S. suggested. Or, they can be walked down with a usher before the Mother's are seated?

I would have the older one do a nice reading or poem. The younger one could walk in after the flower girl and hand out small real or silken flowers to random guests. You can have a space for her to sit on the front row. No need for a BM dress, though they should be in a similar color.

I love all these suggestions. I think having them walked down the aisle and seated would be a great touch. I'm not really sure I want any readings at the wedding. I'm just not sure where that would fit into the ceremony. You ladies are all so helpful!!
