How to incorporate my Fhs mother that has passed.

Summer, on September 19, 2022 at 4:17 AM Posted in Planning 0 4
My FH mother passed away several years ago and this will be his first wedding. I want to somehow incorporate her into it so he kinda feels like she is there. I wanted to do some kind of handkerchief in his pocket but he will only be wearing a button down with khakis. Does anyone have any idea how I can do this?

Could you wear a piece of her jewelry? I plan on doing this for my late grandmother. You could also reserve a seat in her honor, or place something in the chair that is of sentiment for him. Just make sure you have an assigned person to take care of the items post ceremony!

Unfortunately when she passed all of her belongings were with her bf at the time and they never got anything back and there are very few pictures of her.

If you have a handkerchief of hers I wonder if a piece of it can be wrapped around the stem of his boutonniere. You could also honor her in a more subtle way like serving one of her fave dishes , desserts, or drinks. Best of luck to you!

Hmm. I would ask him what reminds him of her [a particular flower, a song, a color] and try and incorporate that. If she loved sunflowers, you could reserve a seat for her and leave a beautiful bouquet of sunflowers in the reserved seat. Hopefully this sparks some ideas!
