How to make a processional less awkward

Jmz, on January 29, 2022 at 2:44 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 14
Just a question... has anyone ever seen a wedding where the groomsmen walk down back to back (so still in a single file line) but not with great distances between, and then same with bridesmaids? As a bridesmaid I always haaaaaaated and dreaded the long slow walk, especially since literally no one is there to see me 😂😳 that or I could potentially do the coupling up, but it's very likely the numbers will be uneven and then I don't see the point in pairing some people up and others not.

What do you think to make the processional a little more natural and less of a spectacle?

If you want, you could "weave" the processional, one bridesmaid, one groomsman, etc... Then less pressure is on any one person.

I've never seen this as a guest but I watched it on this: the processional starts at about 1.02 So you can definitely do it with your WP. Note that the sides are uneven.

I have never seen it (except on the video Ashley posted) but I love the idea and I loved it on the video. I also believe that if that's what you want then go for it.

Thanks so much for the visual! I like how the guys came down in quite a natural flow. 😊

Thats true! But I'll end up with more ladies probably, so I think I'll stick to men first then women.

We had the guys sort of walk in naturally, like the video, and then each of the ladies walked down individually BUT we didn't have anyone do the step - pause - step thing that was such a trend for a while. They just walked, which led to a much more relaxed feeling (I didn't step - pause - step either - because it's so weird and awkward)

Thank you for asking this! I will have one groomsmen that none of my ladies want to walk back with so I figured after we walk down the aisle the ladies can follow then the men after them!

Haha oh my goodness! No way could I ever do that! I didn't realize some people still ask their bridal party to do that nowadays.

Actually none of the weddings I was in had us pair up before the ceremony started, but at my brother's after the ceremony we paired up to leave. I really don't think it's necessary though, so just do whatever will make your wedding party comfortable. 😊

We did this. Granted, we had a smaller party (the Best Man and the other groomsman walked in with Hubby so he wouldn't be up there alone). It works just fine.
