How to Make Simple Dress Look Not so Simple??

Sydney, on October 12, 2023 at 9:38 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9

Hey guys, I bought this more simple dress at the last minute for my wedding. How should I make it look better? Should I add a petticoat? Any ideas would be appreciated-We're getting married in almost a month! How to Make Simple Dress Look Not so Simple?? 1

I would add a belt to accentuate your waist. Pretty dress!!

I agree. A sparkly belt would look great. I'd also try a petticoat to see if you like the shape. It will definitely change things. Just make sure the dress is still long enough with a petticoat underneath.

I would modify the sleeves first by shortening and angling \ / them slightly. You might even be able to simply fold them. You do not want the sleeves to end right at the nipple line as this boxes and widens the figure, particularly on bustier ladies (like myself). I wonder if you can remove the short sleeves entirely and add detachable sleeves. I've seen organza and soft mesh sleeves on Shein, Bhldn, and Etsy.

For the waist, you can add a plain 3/4" fabric belt. I'd further sew rhinestones to the neck area or add a statement necklace. Or skip the sparkle and add a fabric sash and tie into a bow in the back.

Certainly, you don't have to do any of the above. It's all in the way you carry yourself. You, are the Bride, and you can make any dress your wedding dress.

The dress is very pretty. A sparkly belt would look great. What are you wearing on your head?

I don't know if you are wearing shoes or not but it appear to be long , at that , I would raise the waistline right under your breast so there won't be any waist line then put a wide shiny ribbon to cover the separation (you could even put some glitters if you want) I also would remove the sleeve and shape the sleeve to look like you have halter and you can use the use the material from the sleeve to make a small collar.. With your hair up with baby's breath it will look grreat, Best of luck on your wedding.Smiley heart

There are plenty of add-on trains on Etsy. They wrap around your waist, which accentuates your figure while adding beautiful length to the back. Since it's detachable you can dance without it!

Add a sparkly bridal belt, that’s maybe a floral type shape, and make your wedding jewelry a little more extra! That will add some spice and glam to your whole look 🤍
