How to Renovate A Gymnasium for My Reception?!?

My fiance and I have almost decided to get married at our church. But, there is a little problem. We are in the process of building a new church and what will be the felowship hall at the end, is now the sanctuary. So, for now receptions must be held in the gym. That would be fine, but i don't really like the idea of seeing basketball goals and the church school's mascot every where? How can we hide it?! And how do we keep it inexpensive as possible?!
