How to save money on unnecessary supplies/signs for the wedding?

The Sealpups, on July 18, 2019 at 1:55 PM Posted in Planning 0 5

I'm looking into buying a bundle on etsy that has these signs:

Smaller-medium sized:

- unplugged ceremony (church ceremony)

- save our hashtag (reception)

- drinks/bar (reception)

- cards/gift sign (reception)

- reserved (church ceremony)

- sign our guest book (church ceremony)

Larger signs:

- seating chart (reception)

- welcome (both)

- wedding party (reception) I found this on etsy and i LOVE it! I'm debating if I should just get the digital and print it out from costco and frame it but it's so big, there wouldn't be a mount, unless I just order an 8 x10 and buy a smaller mount for the table.

Those are the ones I would need (for sure). For the smaller sized signs, I can always go to the dollar store and get frames. For the larger signs, I may need to purchase easels but I feel like that would be a lot, especially for 3 signs. The "welcome" sign would need be needed for both but one option is I can just purchase those banner-blanket type stuff and just throw it over a table. We can't hang anything in our venue (brand new) so I won't be able to hang the seating chart. With the "wedding party" sign, I was thinking of maybe just printing a smaller size canvas picture or mounted picture so I wouldn't need to purchase another easel.

Any suggestions?

THANK YOU! Smiley smile

So I'm a big bugeter so take my thoughts with a grain of salt. I think the only really necessary signs are the hashtag (if your having one), bar/drinks, and seating chart. You can do the wedding party one if you want but I'd go smaller. I think people are smart enough to know to sign a guest book, not sit in the front row of the church if they're not immediate family, and not to take pictures during the ceremony.

I'm having a bar sign, a sign to explain what a cookie table is to my Michigan guests, and seating chart. I'm going to have a print out of the itinerary and menu printed for each table. For my Bar sign I'm just writing on my small white board I already own and propping it up with a box or something. I'm doing my seating chart by places we met each of the guests so there will be a sign explaining that and a series of maps with their names on it and a table name. Our venue doesn't let us hang anything so we're putting them all on a sturdier trifold board on the card table. Cookie table sign will just be in a frame with a kick stand.

Thanks for the feedback! Much appreciated. I will eliminate down on:

    - guestbook

    - bar/drinks (we don't have a customized list. We wish!)

    - Welcome sign

Wedding party sign will be smaller; we need the "unplugged" bc we both have ignorant family members (lol). With the "reserved" sign, I can always just write on a piece of paper with "reserved" on it. Call it a day.

Your seating chart-map idea sounds like such a good idea!! That's awesome!

I feel like for the smaller signs you could just make it yourself. Like I don't imagine a sign for signing your guest book needs to be large. For me I found a cute template online and just printed it myself and bought desktop easels for those.
Also don't be afraid to ask to borrow stuff from people ahah I definitely asked around my friends to see if they had easels I could borrow so that I wouldn't need to buy them myself

We stuck to the bare minimum: welcome sign, seating chart, guestbook, cards & gifts.

We're double purposing our welcome sign to have the seating chart on the back since it's blank. All the venue staff need to do is flip it around.
