How to say my deceased dad is giving me away

Kristen, on April 9, 2022 at 7:25 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 4
So my father died a few years ago, and my uncle is going to walk me down the aisle. When it gets to the part where the officiant asks “who gives this woman away?”, I want to be able to include my dad in the response. I’m thinking something along the lines of “her father in heaven and her mother do”. But I don’t exactly like that wording. It doesn’t sound quite right to me. Does anyone have any ideas?

Maybe something along the lines of, "Her uncle and mother present her in honor of her father in heaven"?

Can your uncle say, “Her late father and I do.”?

My brother walked me down the aisle, because my dad passed away before I got married - when the officiant asked "who presents this woman" he replied "on behalf of those who are here and those who are unable to be, I do."

I feel like it gave recognition to the fact that my dad would have been there had he been able (and I felt like it didn't sound odd).
