How to store charger plates?

Camille, on August 5, 2018 at 7:16 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 5

So I am spray painting 200+ charger plates for my wedding and I don't know the best way to store them until the wedding. When we purchased them from a thrift store they had those thin packing cushion sheets between them but you could tell those left marks on the chargers. So I was thinking I would use wax paper so it doesn't stick as bad. Well I stacked some up and pulled them out today and the wax paper is making some marks on the chargers where it kinda wrinkled when stacked up. Any suggestions of what to place between each of them so they don't get messed up?

Bubble wrap or the big sheets of white craft paper that come on the rolls that teachers use for construction boards.. hobby lobby or Michael's might give u some of their wrap for little or nothing 2

What about fabric? Would old bedsheets or towels work to pad them and not leave marks? Are they leaving marks in the paint you've added, could it be the spray paint is still wet, or moisture is getting into them somehow?

Sounds like an ambitious DIY you're doing! What color are you painting the chargers?

Thanks for that recommendation! I haven't thought about that one yet. But I feel like the little fuzz will stick to the paint.

Yeah its been quite the project! We started with chargers from thrift stores and are spray painting them navy blue. The marks that are showing up are in the spray paint layer. I have tried my best to paint on days that aren't super humid (but I live in GA so that's pretty hard). Then I have let them dry flat for several days then I stacked them. Last week I tried parchment paper instead of wax paper. I thought it was going to work but then I went and looked at some of them and they are showing marks too. Ugh so frustrating. We might just forget the project all together Smiley sad

That sounds really frustrating. What about a different brand of spray paint? Maybe there is one that is better set up to stick to the surface you're spraying on, or one that dries with a tougher finish?
