How to tell my hairstylist I'm doing my own hair instead?

Ceelie , on August 19, 2019 at 9:35 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 10

I was originally gonna go to my usual hairstylist for the wedding, but after getting my bridals back I'm pretty sure I want to do just a simple curled style with all my hair down and I can easily do it myself. Would also save me some money. How do I tell her without sounding rude? :/

I am going to have to tell my hairstylist that I hired A contracted professional in the next few days but fortunately she is terrible at responding and due to that I have a reason to tell her hey I feel More comfortable with a contract. I am basically going to say I know we had talked about having you style my hair but due to new realizations and our budget I have decided to do my hair myself.

Did you have any kind of contract that mentions cancellations? If not, I'd try to come up with a simple email stating that you've decided to go a different way with your wedding hairstyle, and no need their services.

If it’s your usual stylist then just get your hair trimmed or whatever and tell them your budget is too tight, how long have you been seeing them for? I don’t think a stylist you regularly pay money to is going to be upset they can’t do one hair appointment, you’re still their customer.

That's a good point, although I won't need a trim. But I'm sure she will understand since I am not leaving her as a customer! Haha thank you!

No there was no contract, it was a pretty casual setup. Thank you for the input!

Yeah the money part may soften it a little, so that may help. Thank you!

Yeah no worries! Lol you’re not breaking up with your stylist, she’ll understand. Bridal expenses add up!

I think she should be completely fine with you doing it yourself and like you said you’re still going to be her regular client so I wouldn’t worry.

I'd tell her you've decided to go a different direction with hair and thank her for her time!
