How to tell the parents...?

Have you two told anyone else? If it were me, I would video chat them now so they could talk to both of us. It will still be exciting to celebrate your news when you see them for Thanksgiving!

I would tell them sooner rather than later. They might be update that you waited.

I would video call them. It would be super sweet if your FH could be a part of the surprise. Then you and your mom can jump around in person during thanks giving and start throwing wedding ideas around with her. Guys don't care about all the details as long as the food and dranks are good lol

That's a good point! We've told his parents since they live just 10 minutes away from us and my co-workers since they spotted my ring, but we are waiting to tell everyone else until we tell my parents. Thanks for the advice!

Yeah, just call them. If you're close, I imagine they would feel a little sad or angry if they found out weeks later just because you wanted to tell them in person. Maybe not, but I probably would feel that way!

We video called our families! When they answered I had my hand up to my face Haha.

We waited until my sister and mom are in town then he will tell his Mom next week at Thanksgiving. It was awesome to tell everyone in person.
In our case those that know didn't spill the beans to anyone else. They knew we were telling everyone in person.

I would FaceTime them immediately. Imagine if they found our from someone else?! My mom would be crushed. But we are very close and she was my first call. Did you fiancé ask for your parents blessing? Cause they might already have some idea and are just waiting to hear for you

My fiancé proposed while we were on vacation together with his parents. My dad knew (FH “asked him” the day before we left) I always imagined telling my mom in person but I FaceTimed her right after it happened because I couldn’t wait to tell her and it’s honestly one of my favorite moments of our proposal/engagement. She answered and I didn’t even say anything I just held my hand up and I’ll never forget the look on her face.

It’s almost the holidays. Will you see them next week for Thanksgiving? That could be a good time to do it!

I told my parents through FaceTime because my fiancé proposed in Nashville and we live in Pennsylvania. It was still very special but I was also able to see them when we returned from our trip. My parents knew it was coming because my fiancé asked my dad for permission and he obviously told my mom. It depends on how long it’ll be until you’ll see them with your fiancé but maybe you could FaceTime your fiancé when you tell them at thanksgiving?

I can't believe you've kept it a secret for over 1 week! Haha Kudos to you! I video called my parents (with my FH) a few hours it happened and I only waited because they are Air Force and stationed in South Korea so i had to wait because of the time difference. Tried calling them right afterwards, but it was 3am and they were not picking up. Haha
