How to weigh down table numbers?

Heidi, on January 18, 2017 at 4:19 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 11

Hi! So I ordered wooden table numbers from Amazon and painted them gold, and I'm going to add some gold glitter to just the number part. My only issue with them is that they are SOO light and knock over easily. Any ideas on how to weigh these puppies down? My only idea so far is to maybe put a mini pumpkin down partially on the base. More ideas are welcome Smiley smile

    I like the pumpkin idea.

Are you having any flowers on the table? You could always weave some flowers around the bottom too.

What is the rest of your decor like?

I bought those same exact numbers! I spray painted them gold and glittered the numbers with fine gold glitter and mod podge. I bought these votive holders and clear bead vase filler to put them in. I agree they fall over very easily. The "stand" they came with is awful

ETA: The votives aren't as yellow as they look. They're gold and really pretty :-)

Get museum putty and stick them to the table. It looks like taffy, you break it up into little balls and it holds things to other things......

I probably should have told you what the rest of the decor is like, haha. I'm DIYing a LOT to save cash. We're doing a fall wreath in the middle of the table, with a big hurricane glass & candle in the middle of the wreath. And I'll be sprinkling some fake leaves around the table.

@Angela I LOVE those votives! So the bead filler was enough to hold the numbers up? I might just have to get these as well. #tablenumberbuddies Smiley smile

I used tack or museum putty to get them to stick to the table cloths.

The bead filler is enough, but I still might put a piece of styrofoam under the filler to stick it in to ensure they won't move. The votives are so pretty and look sparkly even without a candle! I'm sure you wouldn't be disappointed. I can post a picture when I get home :-)

We glued our pinecone table number holders to those tiny mirrors you can get at Joanns/Michaels/etc, might be an option for you

Here's what they look like. I got the vase filler at Michael's, there's always a coupon on retailmenot!
