Hunting on your Honeymoon

We are planning a two week honeymoon, first week in Caribbean, second week in or around Montana/Wyoming. We would like to hunt (elk, deer, etc) on the second week, and I was wondering if anyone had either been for their honeymoon or in general, and what advice you may have for the Montana/Wyoming...

Because there are ignorant people out there like you who are propagating the factory farming industry and you should be ashamed.

It's not a battle. It's just my natural reaction to seeing such ignorance, and the sheer disappointment in humanity that follows.

You know, you could just ask the woman if she plans to eat the kill. I mean, it is her thread.

Melissa, even if they don't eat the meat themselves there are groups that coordinate donation of wild game meat to local soup kitchens and food pantries.

Melissa, M is one of the smartest, most intelligent, most quick-thinking humans I've ever gotten to meet. Not trying to get in the middle of something but I don't like it when people insult the people I like, and who have shown me care. Smiley sad

Redneck hillbilly? At least she's not spoiled and materialistic. Would you still love your DH if he dared to give you a 2 carat ring instead of a 3 carat one?

But it's ok for her to insult other people? I would stay out of this one.

Oh, PS - no shame in being a "redneck." To me that means I provide for myself and my family, work the land, raise my own animals, do well with what I have, re-purpose, and live a deliberate lifestyle.

“I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. I did not wish to live what was not life, living is so dear; nor did I wish to practise resignation, unless it was quite necessary. I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life, to live so sturdily and Spartan-like as to put to rout all that was not life, to cut a broad swath and shave close, to drive life into a corner, and reduce it to its lowest terms.” - Thoreau

Ironically, m is not only one of the most well versed on the forums in hunting, but she's also one of the only people on this forum who knows appropriate dress codes and how to dress for a black tie wedding. That level of well-roundedness is hard to find.

Melissa, M calls things brutally honestly. It freaked me out at first. But now I love her for it. And I'm sorry, but I can't stay quiet when a brilliant, passionate, good-hearted friend is called a redneck hillbilly.

I like you, Melissa. I have been envious of your avatar since I first saw it. I just think there's more perspective here, if you're willing to take a step back.

ETA - haha M I knew you would come in and own the redneck thing! I didn't like the insult behind it, which was the thing.

    Can't they both be right?

Killing an animal and leaving it in the woods to rot would be a pretty bullshitty thing to do.

    Hunting for food is fine.

Factory farms are pretty bullshitty, but many of us who live in huge population centers where people are many and animals are scarce rely on them to survive.

Wow Melissa, so uncalled for. Prime example of living in a glass house. There are a lot of names I'm sure it would be easy for the women on here to call you, if they were to lower themselves to your level. I wouldn't light that fire, if I were you.
