Hello all, I haven't been on in a while.

But we recently found out my husband will be the best man in one of his friend's wedding this Sept. and I'm feeling kind of weird about it. This is the first time we have both been invited to attend a wedding, and I guess I'm kind of bummed out that I will be attending this one practically alone =(.

I know it's wedding etiquette for him to ride with the party and eat with the party and I won't know anyone at the wedding so I will definitely be alone. I've only met the groom about 4 times in the 4 years that my husband and I have been together and have only met the bride once. From what I know about them, I do like them. I just hate feeling awkward at large social events, let alone being on my own at them.

I also think it's weird that my husband was picked for best man when he's also seen the groom and bride as much as I have within the past four years. (The groom was my husbands freshman roommate at college).

Am I being crazy?

I was a BM in my friend's wedding and FH was somewhat on his own but after dinner, we were dancing and having fun together. At first I was worried about him being alone cause he didn't know the other guests either but he was fine. It's really not that long so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

At my brother's wedding, there were plenty of girlfriends and wives of the groomsmen who weren't bridesmaids. They joined the bridal party and families for the rehearsal dinner, they tagged along at the salon and were just generally around. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Odds are you'll meet someone early on and the two of you (or more) will stick together. I wasn't a bridesmaid at that wedding either, so I ended spending a lot of time with them and we had a really nice time.

I'm kind of in that same situation. Fortunately, I know a few other people going to the wedding, so I won't be completely alone. Get to know someone else. There will probably be at least one other person in your situation. Good luck!

Like everyone else has said, I think you have to put this into perspective. It's only one day and you will still be at the wedding with your FH. Also, if I can be honest (and I don't mean this to sound rude so I really hope it comes across well), as a best man, he will have a lot of responsibility prior to and immediately following the ceremony so try not to press the issue with him too much the day of. Just relax, socialize with the people at your table, etc. If you don't want to feel left out, email the bride and just mention that if she needs any assistance the day of, you would be more than happy to help her. Once the dancing starts you will forget all your worries anyway. Just try to have fun!

Look on it as your way to helping out the bride and groom. It may not be much fun for you, but it is your way of helping out a couple on their wedding day. You can survive a few hours!

Am I obligated to make my husbands best mans wife a bridesmaid?

She sent me a message asking about my colors and if I had a specific dress in mind for the wedding party of just the colors. I have only spoken to this person 1 time in person in the last 3 years. And it seems to ma that by her asking that question she is assuming that since her husband is going to be my fiances best man that she would automatically be a bridesmaid too.

What do i do. And how do i even pose the question to her if that is her assumption with seeming like a .......

My boyfriend at the time was a groomsman and I attended the rehearsal dinner and sat with him. The only time I wasn’t with him was the morning of the wedding when he left early to get ready and take photographs before the ceremony and then again during the ceremony. I decided to go to the gym in the morning and then get a massage!!! I took a long relaxing shower and got ready leisurely. I took the hotel bus shuttle by myself and sat by myself at the ceremony. Then at cocktail hour I was with him and at dinner I was seated with him and we danced together the whole night. I hope they are considerate of him having a partner!!!
