Husband lost wedding band

Hailey, on December 5, 2019 at 8:37 PM Posted in Married Life 0 15
Ok soooo my husband works as an electrician and a lot of times he’s outside. His ring was loose for sure but not enough to size down, today when he got home he realized the ring was gone. I literally ripped the house apart and nothing. He feels bad, I’m so mad. Trying not to be mad at him (accidents happen) but ughhhh we’ve literally been married 54 days and we seriously already went through a band?!

Oh no! I'm so afraid it will happen to my FH as well, just because men aren't typically ring wearers normally. Do you think he might find it at work?

I’m hoping! He is going to check tomorrow but he’s working on new development, so many people are in and out.. who knows.

I would maybe look into silicone rings for him while at work and maybe a nice ring for him to wear for special occasions. My friend's husband is an electrician and he wears a silicone ring due to the danger of gloving.

He has a whole bag of them 🙄, he just loved his band so he would wear it thinking it wouldn’t ever come off. Lesson learned

My FH works outside a lot too--he does cable splicing for a power company. Our plan is to buy him a nice wedding ring but also get a silicone ring for work.

Oh no! At least it's nice that he found a ring he loved so much! Also, a jeweler should be able to size rings down by a half or quarter size. It doesn't have to be done by a whole size.

If he can’t find it tomorrow we are going to go get him a new one. I’m going to make sure it’s practically cutting circulation off this time lol

They were swimming in a pool at a water park and he lost it.. ( they think it went through a water vent) it was never to be found again :/
So yeah, don't be upset with hubby he isn't the first guy to lose his wedding band so early on in marriage.

I'd replace with one on some sort of holiday sale (we got ours for $96 at Helzberg diamonds on black friday) and then have him wear a silicon band at work for now on.

My FH already plans to wear a silicon one at work. We are both teachers, he teaches high school Chemistry and just doesn't want it to be damaged by chemicals etc.

I agree. I’d also worry a metal band could be dangerous in his line of work. I’d hate for him to lose a finger.

Insurance is a must especially for my Fiance he loses everything so anytime I buy him a piece of jewelry I am sure to get it insured. It is also a good idea to get your wedding set insured too just as a precaution.

Does he wear gloves at all during work? If so, I'd check to make sure that it didn't slip off when he was taking them off.

    Good Luck!

My husband is also an electrician so I made sure to get him a ring that he could wear as much as possible at work without having to take it off each time. We also bought silicone ones for when we still wanted to wear something but didn't want to risk losing them. It's pretty cool for our honeymoon we knew we were going to be beach bums, always in the water or out exploring so we only took our silicone rings an didn't risk our real rings. Best of luck, hopefully he put it somewhere while we was working and its there, fingers crossed.
