I am obsessed with this dress

Erika, on March 22, 2017 at 2:01 PM Posted in Planning 0 49

Too early to go try on and see for sure, (wedding is not until 8/18), BUT I AM SO EXCITED AND I JUST WANT TO START PLANNING EVERYTHING.

Anyone else in the same boat?

My wedding isn't until 10/19 but my mom and I are going on the 1st to look. She wants some special time before we do the really serious shopping because my older sister didn't do a traditional wedding gown so she missed out and I am the last baby of the family

Fingers crossed that I love it just as much in person!! Going to try it on Labor Day weekend with my MOH and mom. As you can tell...I am a bit of a planner.

Nothing wrong with being a planner! We have our venue booked and our photographer/videographer/dj/photobooth booked as well. We picked our bridal party out (all family)

My wedding isn't until May of next year and I've bought a lot of what I need for it as well as have booked most of the vendors already. I've scheduled a dress shopping excursion for this May but have been looking online for inspiration. I'm also going to a bridal expo this weekend. What I'm getting at is: start the planning whenever you want!

It's not too early! I would say that dresses should come after the budget has been decided, because you don't want to break your own heart by falling in love with a dress that ends up out of your price range. For me, deciding on my dress budget us dependent on having the venue and catering situated with a solid price estimate, so I'm not on the hunt for dresses yet (still need to work out catering estimate from real caterers)

    Thanks everyone!

And I agree Elizabeth. Luckily, we have booked the venue which includes overnight stay for the wedding party for the weekend, rehearsal dinner, Sat/Sun breakfast, lunch for the wedding day (Saturday), the ceremony, reception and all catering. So we have a decent idea on what $$$ is looking like. I think all that is left is dresses, suits, flowers, cake, DJ, photographer, and transportation for guests. I think I am missing some stuff, but generally speaking...

I went dress shopping in August for my Dec 2017 wedding and bought my dress in August. Its not too early but I also have had pretty much everything done since then. But good luck and that dress is gorgeous!

I really want to but I also want to wait for my MOH and mom to be able to see it with me. Something they asked to be a part of and one of those things that I am willing to wait for so we can all be together (MOH lives in Miami and mother lives in Charlotte, hence the coordination/wait)

I would go and try it on, wedding dresses can change from year to year, even season to season. It's better to be safe than sorry.

Also, if you try it on and don't fall in love with it like you did the picture it's out of your system and onto the next dress!!

It's never too early for dress shopping once you're engaged Smiley smile go for it! It's beautiful! I bought my dress already and would have gotten it before if the trunk show was earlier!

I booked my venue and had the dress a year out from the wedding. The dress was a surprise - I just loved it and it was on sale sooo...

Do yourself a favor though - if you buy the dress DO NOT LOOK AT ANYMORE DRESSES EVER. Seriously, there are so many regrets on WW from brides who buy too early.

Agree with StuckOnYou - if you do go early, do not look at any more dresses!!! SOO many dress regrets / they get worried they don't LOVE it any more.
