Just Said Yes March 2019

i am walking myself down the aisle.

I was wondering if anyone had walked themselves down the aisle or plans to. I don’t feel like my dad deserves it. I don’t really want my mom. I just feel like walking myself is the best option. Any input?

I think walking yourself down the aisle is perfectly fine. I don’t have a relationship with my parents so my father isn’t an option. I asked my brother to walk me, but if I didn’t have siblings I would go solo as well.

Totally fine! My DH & I walked together which was not only comforting (we were both nervous), we got even more cute pics of us together.

It's totally fine to walk yourself down the aisle. I guarantee you will not get lost meeting your FS at the alter.

Yes I walked down the aisle alone. I don't have family and there was no one else I wanted to share that moment with me. I saw it as a symbolic act of walking down the aisle as an independent woman who was confident in my choice of partner.

I more than likely will be doing that and I’m actually looking forward to it.

To each their own especially now days. It’s hard to continue traditions with divorce etc. My father passed so my brother is walking with me and my step father will stand up in the front with us for a moment to “give me away” although I’d really prefer to walk alone or just with my brother.

I would prefer to walk down alone. As a PP said, it's more of a symbolic thing to me. I'm a strong independent woman and don't really like the whole "giving away" part of it.

However, I'm terrified that I might trip or stumble!! So I haven't fully decided just yet.

Totally fine to walk yourself! I also think it’s beautiful when couples walk together too! I don’t have a mom or dad so my uncle is walking me down the aisle and then I’ll dance with my brother. Do whatever works for you! ❤️

FWIW, NotFroofy and I just walked down the aisle together, as neither set of parents was even invited.

I will be walking myself. Both my parents are deceased and my brother won't be able to make the wedding ( we're eloping ).
