i am worried my dress is too fancy

Maddison, on July 27, 2019 at 5:03 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 20
I am having a casual wedding. The ceremony will be at a cute little chapel, and we will have about 35 guests in attendance.
When I had picked my dress we were planning a bigger wedding, but our orignal venue fell through, so two months before my wedding I picked this adorable chapel and couldn't be happier.
I am not having my guests dress up, we are going to have a local food truck do the catering for fresh pizza, and a few other food items, just so you get an idea of how laid back I want the wedding to be.
I am just worried, and its already completely paid for completely

This dress is seriously stunning. If you feel beautiful in the dress and love it than I think you should stick with it! Even though it’s a smaller more casual wedding- you can still feel like a princess.

Your dress is beautiful! It's your wedding day. No matter how casual or formal it may be you should still feel like a bride. Think about looking back at your pictures years from now. Will be happy that your wore a beautiful wedding dress? For personal reasons we ended up having a small, intimate wedding recently while still planning a bigger one for next year. After the ceremony we took our immediate family out to dinner at the restaurant where we had our first date. I was so concerned about feeling awkward and overdressed at the restaurant that I didnt want to go too fancy in my dress. I also felt that I didnt want to go too formal because, after all, we're doing a "real" one next year. I bought a nice dress. It wasn't anything special but it would do. As it got closer i realized the dress wasn't special enough. This was our wedding and I wanted to feel special and bridal. So I found another, beautiful dress and I'm so happy I did. I felt beautiful and bridal and when I look at our pictures I realize I made the right choice. My point is casual or not, it's your wedding. It's a special day so why not wear a beautiful gown that you'll never get to wear again.

Gorgeous dress! Personally, I’d just wear it and make my guests dress in cocktail attire !!! Thatd be super cute with pizza (I guess I’m truly an nyc gal lol) ... you could also always opt to sell the dress on one of those resale sites! My best friend did after she fell out of love with her dress and she sold it for full price unused! Go with your heart Smiley smile

I think its beautiful and you will be the center of attention no matter what you wear! If I chose to go to the courthouse, I would still have worn my dress thats an A-line low v neck and back 3 finger strap lace and organza gown in white!

Oh that dress is so beautiful please don't feel bad about it! If you want to do more casual you can do a reception dress, but that's so pretty you can just rock it. I don't think anyone will really think about it.
The train is super perfect for a chapel in my opinion.

I think lace is always appropriate for a bride no matter what formality. You’re the bride, you’re supposed to look a little special. It’s not a giant crystal encrusted ballgown with a 12ft train, you’re absolutely fine.

I say stick with your dress! It's gorgeous and would fit your chapel wedding beautifully. I personally feel you can never be overdressed for your own wedding Smiley smile

Put a pick up in the bottom for the train but outside of that. There's no thing about too fancy.

Your dress is stunning! Seriously! Our wedding is going to be a casual backyard wedding, and my dress is pretty fancy just to be hangin’ our in a backyard all day, but ya know, I only get to experience this day once! If you feel beautiful, that’s all that matters. ❤️

I think the dress is gorgeous. If you feel like you will be overdressed for the reception, take a second dress to change into. I'm going to have my elopement dress upstairs in case I feel the urge to change during the reception. But if this is the dress you love, definitely wear it on the day you have planned.
