i can’t believe this is happening before my shower!!

Casey, on September 5, 2018 at 8:29 AM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 10
This is SO random, but I am so upset. I have a big Mucocele on my bottom lip that is bright red and won’t go away. My shower is this Sunday!!
My wedding is in just under a month from now, and I’m worried it won’t go away before it comes.
Has anyone had to deal with this?

I found this? I've never dealt with this, but maybe it'll help!

I had a canker sore the week before my wedding and I was worried about that too because they hurt!

I’ve never personally dealt with it but I’m a big fan of natural remedies. Have you tried any?

    Hello Casey!!

Ahhh I'm so so sorry this is happening to you!! Are you looking to try to get rid of it or do you want to wait for it to go away naturally? It looks like it will go away on it's own eventually but I totally understand your concern with your wedding shower and wedding fast approaching!!

If you're looking to get rid of it ASAP, I would personally contact a dentist (it's in your mouth, right?) and explain the situation. I'm not as familiar with Mucoceles but they look like a cousin of canker sores, which I get constantly. I got one right before I was supposed to speak in front of hundreds of people and the dentist was able to painlessly laser it off the day before!!

It looks like there are also at home remedies you can put on it to encourage it to go away/down. I've never used any of these methods personally but there are some reviews online of other people who have!

I really hope this helps!! I'm so sorry you're dealing with this!

I’d say go to the doctor, that’s the fastest way to get rid of it. Ask them if they have any medications that can help or any home remedies that will be beneficial. If you want something that’ll work and be effective, ask a medical professional!

Try Alum! I've gotten a few mucoceles and alum would make it go away insanely fast. You can google it to see exactly how much/how long to put it on for.

Go to a doctor and have it removed. You could either do it this week or wait until next. Either you have that or a scab for the shower.

I have some alum, but it’s the Grainy one... not powder. Does that still work?

Yeah, I think that's what I used! I haven't had one for almost two years now, so I kind of forget what I did, but I think I put some alum on a q-tip and held it on it for a certain amount of time... I remember I did it multiple times a day, too. If you google at-home remedies using alum I'm sure you'll find exactly how to do it! Mine was gone within a day or two.
