She would reach up under the lace girdling, cut off the layered bottom unit where all layers are sewn together at the top. Then put tgem back with the lower point atteched a ways down. So essentially, taking the extra from the middle, not bottom. And all layers at once. which saves hours of labor hemming layers. If you do not want that for a ceremony, you likely do not want the train at all, no bustling. Taking in the lace correctly and matching pattern is the fussy work. but 1200 is double what it should cost.

cut off, re-gather at bottom of red, and sew it back without the red part. Not hem 6 or so layers individually.

They are all very pretty but that ball gown is absolutely gorgeous on you!
