i can’t find my diamond band!

Wow definitely retrace your steps! was the ring loose on your finger and could have literally slipped right off? make sure to look in small cracks or on the floor and what not. i've lost my ring before because it literally slipped right off my fingers but i was able to retrace my steps to find it. so i hope you find yours!

My only advice is to retrace your steps. Go through everything you did and everyone you spoke to. Ask if anyone noticed it was or wasn't on your hand at any particular time to narrow down the timeline. I'm sorry sorry this happened - good luck!

Depending on what kind of job you do I would check all areas of your office. For example a file drawer if you work in an office, trash can, bathroom, etc.

Are there any security cameras in your office? Maybe you can see where it fell off by viewing the footage. It isn't insured you said, right? Maybe you can still alert the police in the event it was found by someone less honest. If they are GIA certified diamonds, there are ID numbers etched into every stone. That can help if they end up at a pawn shop or something. Also, once you get it back, make sure to get it sized correctly. Given that it is an eternity band, you may have to remove a stone.

It won't be the same as filing like a petty theft (although given carat weight, that probably over the "petty theft" limit). However, if they come across someone trying to sell the diamonds, they'll know who they belong to.

If you file a report with the police, it would not be to report a crime. It would really be to alert them in the event that lost property shows up. They wouldn't actively do anything with the report, but it would be there in the event they come across something matching the description of your ring.

Oh no.... Very sorry. Can you ask help from your coworkers? Show them the picture. Look on each corner. Did the cleaning crew clean your office yet? If yes, ask asap, and check their vacuum cleaners. Check the bathroom trash bin, underneath your table, did it get tangled on your hair, check the sink, check your pockets, your handbag, under the copy machine, everywhere...

I literally retraced my steps. so what happened was i was looking thru a bag for something and then next thing you know i lost my ring. and then i went thru my head ok where did i go what did i do and luckily it was inside the bag i sifted thru earlier. so definitely you just have to remember the day and retrace it.
