I don't (have the motivation) want to be a fit bride!

I used to have so much motivation to eat healthy, work-out 6 days a week, go running, etc etc. Two years ago I lost my motivation and then gained it back as I was finishing up nursing school and noticed I gained a few pounds. I used to have so much motivation to eat healthy, work-out 6 days a week, go running, etc etc. Two years ago I lost my motivation and then gained it back as I was finishing up nursing school and noticed I gained a few pounds. So I got myself a trainer for 3 months and got my motivation back, until May when my training was over and I lost it again. Well in June I got engaged and I thought I would have all of the motivation in the world to start my routine again. NOPE!!! I started working as a nurse, am in the process of moving, and wedding planning... I can't find that motivation! It's not that I want to lose weight, I just need to lose 1-2" off my waist and tone up my arms (I have an A-line wedding gown). But I can't find that motivation!! I thought it would be so easy, you know, "I need to be toned for my wedding day" ..... Anyone else feel the same? Or how did you muster up the motivation you need? My fiancé likes working out with me, but we've both been so busy with work Smiley sad

Everyday I remind myself of how sluggish I felt when I first started running at the beginning of this year. I was bloated, my pants didn't fit, and I was weighing in at my heaviest ever at 190lbs. Everyday I remind myself that getting up to walk at lunch for 1/2 an hour is keeping me for feeling those things and it's moving me in the directions of my goals. Every run that I go on is building up muscles in my legs that are showing through the the layers of fluff that I had built up. Every healthy meal that I eat are calories that fuel my running instead of making me more lethargic and like I want to continually eat more. It's something that you need to decide to do, make a plan to do it, and then stick to the plan. Smiley smile Good luck!

I'm actually more motivated to eat badly right now, 17 days away from my big day.

    Stress eating!!

I feel you though. I've found that I've actually dropped a little weight already just cutting soda out of my diet for a week.

Cutting coffee out this week to see how much better I do (I use ridiculous amounts of flavored creamers.)

Maybe try to look at it from a bigger picture perspective? Like..."I'm not losing weight for the wedding, I'm taking steps to live a healthier lifestyle."

Or you could do something like I am...get a group of 5-6 friends together. Do a weigh in and measurement session, with a $20 entry fee... Give yourself a time limit (we're doing 2 months) and whoever loses the most gets the money! I know I could use $140 right before the holidays. Smiley winking It makes it fun too.

I was doing great motivation-wise for a long time. I did one and half rounds of Insanity, was eating well, tons of water, working out with my man everyday. Then 10 days before the wedding I lost ALL drive. I went into IDGAF mode so hard it was ridiculous. Guess what? I lost 6 more pounds LOL. Turns out not hammering your body every day will flush out all the extra water weight. I think from now on I will try to go in cycles. I'm not "shredding for the wedding" anymore, but I still have 40 lbs I'd like to lose. I think if I allow myself a week off after every 4 weeks as a kind of reward, it's much easier to stick with the plan. I'm always working toward recovery week. I don't plan to blow those weeks out. I'll still eat relatively well and probably walk a few miles a night, but the high impact stuff just becomes overwhelming.

Yep, same boat! I just...it's not happening. I'll try to eat more healthily and walk more in the upcoming months, but my FH proposed to me looking the way I do—I know he won't be disappointed with how I look. So I just have to control my own inner critic. He'd be way more bothered by my negativity about myself than by the extra ten pounds I probably won't lose. You'll look beautiful because you're marrying the love of your life and you'll be glowing!!

Right now I am in "nutcracker mode" and I'm dancing a crazy amount. This time of year I tend to shed pounds just because of the sheer volume of movement that happens everyday. The hard part for me will be in January when we've closed the show and I can decide to go home early rather than stay and take a ballet class. Plus it will be cold (well, cold for California) and I will just want to go home and bundle up and eat all the yummy warm comfort foods. Hopefully I'll be able to keep my motivation up after the new year!!

All of you ladies are beautiful! I think I will start tweaking my diet, and other little steps to achieve my goal.

When I ordered my dress I was in between 2 sizes, but I was closer to the smaller size than the bigger size.. So I chose the smaller size. All I need is to lose an inch in my waist and I'll be fine!

All of you girls alone are motivation. But if we don't real are goals, it's okay because we're all beautiful inside and out.

Fit bit helped me. I feel like I *need* to hit 10,000 steps which isn't attainable unless I go to the gym!

I switch up work outs, alternate elliptical, stairs, treadmill so I don't get bored. I aim for 30 minutes of cardio. Seems way more attainable then spending all night at the gym. Make it a goal to push yourself for those 30 minutes and don't stop. Slow down when you need a break but don't stop! I started almost 2 years ago, same as you just wanted to get toned and fit. 1 mile was hard. now 3-4 is easy!

If you want a motivation buddy I would be happy to Smiley smile
