I don't know what to do for my honeymoon!

I am getting married in June and my Fiancé is letting me pick the place to go but I have no idea what to do! We were thinking a cruise but that is just WAY out of our budget. He will be 20 and I will be 19... Any ideas??

How is a cruise out of budget? They go as low as $199 per person. It comes with entertainment and food.

To all the rude responses about the cruise not being in my budget. I PERSONALLY have not found anything cheaper than 300 per person per night. I apologize for not being as skilled in looking as other people are.

I don't think people (including me) are being rude- depending on where you want to go, what time of year, etc. can change the cost of a cruise, esp. since you don't live near water and would need to travel to get there...but cruises are generally "cheap" vacations. I think the point people are making is that if you can't afford a cruise, then what CAN you afford? What IS your honeymoon budget?

I live in Oklahoma. And I have looked into many cruises and with them all being $2000+ that is defiantly. And $199 per person per night is more expensive than getting a hotel for $100 a night. So I think that is what we have decided. Thank you all for your help. Smiley smile.

Charleston, SC. For one its gorgeous, they have a ton of hotels from super nice to reasonably priced. Plus you can drive up to Myrtle Beach for the day & catch show, plus walk around & window shop. Things of that nature. It was super cheap to visit, but it felt like we paid a lot more then we did. However, I know most hotels require you to be 21 & older to rent a hotel room, which sucks but places are required to follow that law.

Depending on your budget viking river cruises has a buy one get one free type of deal going now. Those fares usually apply durring non peak travel seasons. FH and I were looking at a 19 day cruise to 8 countries for about 6k for the both of us. They had shorter more affordable options as well. Or just drive someplace you guys have been interested in traveling to and make a weekend or week out of it.

Have fun! One thing to keep in mind--when my brother and SIL got married, they were both 19. One of the hotels they booked online for their honeymoon (they traveled around to several places) told them when they arrived that since they were under 21 they couldn't stay there. Apparently there was a college nearby and they had had a lot of trouble with students coming in and drinking underage, so it was a policy particular to that hotel (not the whole chain, and there was nothing on the website about it). So I would recommend you check and make sure you'll be fine with whatever places you choose to stay!

@Sidnye...Prince Conti Hotel on Conti Street is my go to when in Nola...its within walking distance to everything in the French Quarter, really clean, nice and the staff is great. Complimentary hotel shuttles (if you don't have a car) were also a bonus.

Personally, I LOVE New Orleans, but I would be worried that at 19 and 20 years old, you guys may not get the appeal and the draw about the city...a lot of things stem from drinking, which you wont be able to do. Granted, there are a lot of fun things that you can do such as tours, swamp boats, window shopping, ect, wandering Bourbon Street (but not be able to go in any bars)...once the evening hours hit its crazy insane with drunk people everywhere. At your age and not being able to have the fun, I wouldn't have liked it and it would have turned me off of the awesomeness that is New Orleans

@Maltese thank you for the input but my fiancé and I are very capable of having fun with no alcohol involved. Smiley smile. Believ it or not not all fun stems from alcohol. We already have many ideas at what we will do. Smiley smile.

I didn't say that you or anybody else isn't able to have fun without, all I said was to be aware that the city does rely heavily on it and that there are alot of things there that DO involve alcohol. Observing from a standpoint where you will not be the inebriated ones, I'm sure that people will look pretty stupid and annoying to you....THATS what I insinuated.
