You will want chairs for everyone. A typical ceremony is about 30 minutes and guests generally arrive 10-15 minutes early so that's about 40-45 minutes which is too long for them to stand especially if they have hot sand in their shoes.

I think it depends on your guests and how long your ceremony is. If you have a lot of elderly or handicapped guests at least provide some chair options for them. If the ceremony is really short, maybe 10-15 minutes, then I don’t think you need them. But if you’re doing anything much longer than that then I would rent chairs. My cousin had a beach wedding and it was 13 minutes long, so I felt fine standing for that long. Just please find an area with shade! Lol we were all baking in the sun by the end of the 13 minutes.
