i don't want to have a "bridal Shower"

Nicole, on March 14, 2020 at 12:43 AM Posted in Parties and Events 0 4

Hello everyone! We are having a destination wedding in Las Vegas in December of this year. It is going to be a pretty small wedding and there are some very extended family members and some friends that are not on the invite list. My FH and I already live together, so we are also not doing a registry. So the whole tradition of a bridal shower is a little lost on us, I think.

However, I was thinking it would be nice to have a "Bridal Brunch" or something like that instead. Has anyone else done this or something similar? Also, would it be rude to invite people to the brunch even though they are not invited to the wedding?

You can totally have a bridal brunch that sounds like fun!😁🥐🍰🥂 Pretty sure a bridal shower is whatever you want it to be 😊 We live together already too but we still made a registry

Bridal brunches are common, but it’s rude to invite anyone to a pre-wedding event that’s not invited to the wedding.

You could do it after the wedding. You might run into the same thing I do. I’m 60, 2nd wedding and 2 people have asked me where we’re registered. Seriously people we have too much crap. Don’t give us more. Give us money for new furniture or a nice vacation.

If it's a pre-wedding event, only invite people who are invited to the wedding.

If it's post-wedding, and more of a celebration with those who couldn't come/you couldn't cram onto the guest list... that's something different, and could be really fun.

Registries and showers are all kinds of things these days. DH and I had a regular registry and a honeymoon registry, since we have lived together for a while. We also had a wedding shower, not a bridal shower, since it takes two to get married!
