"I dreamed of a wedding of elaborate elegance, A church filled with family and friends. I asked him what kind of a wedding he wished for, He said one that would make me his wife."

I saw this quote today (no clue who said it) and I thought that it is something that we can all think about...

We are all so very very blessed to have to opportunity to marry the person we love most (and who loves us!). The rest is small stuff. :-)

Yeah - it makes me think of all the different conversations fh & I have had... how the wedding market is a sham...that the real part takes less than 15 mins

What a great quote!! I wish we were just going to an island, but it's too late for that now. Why is everything NON REFUNDABLE?! If I am telling you 6mos in advance I need to cancel, you should give me my money back! 6mos is more than enough time to rebook! (lol I guess this is my rant for the day haha)

    It's so true.

A bit of a sham and an up-sell.

Everyone will say that their wedding was worth it and yet often you see a bit of regret in their eyes, as they're contemplating some big future purchase.

A few friends, who still had to live in an apt for a few more years, were actually honest in expressing their regret about the money they had spent after the wedding.

And so very true. As I sit here I try and think of things that will make my wedding less expensive... My fh thinks me saving money is sexy :-) and I want to buy a house. We have a house fund and its not included AT ALL in the money for the wedding, but dang! It would be nice to be in a house now and not an apt (but if we moved out of the freaking city we would already have a house - vent)

I like that Smiley smile And wow is it true.

I had this conversation with my FH the other day:We had been talking about venues--- a garden, beach, ballroom...I asked, "When you close your eyes, where do you see us on our wedding day?" I totally expected him to say something material bc that's what was on my mind....and he shocked me and said "I've never thought about it...."

I was silent and looking at him like... uhhhhhh ok? I said, "You don't think about our wedding?!...because I probably spend a good portion of my day dreaming it up." lol ... and then he said, "It doesn't matter as long as it's me and you." Smiley smile

It's definitely good to take your head out of the clouds and remember what's important Smiley smile

Oh Mrs Joseph I love this quote. When we got married at the courthouse I had no regrets. I had wanted something incredibly simple on the beach for the big one but plans had to change due to the illness of people on my hubbys side and we ended up in a castle (it snowed the whole wedding) I definately dont regret it but our family mainly paid for it. I think if we had paid ourselves I would have just done it on the beach and there would have only been about 10 people able to make it.

Me and my FH had a talk like that one time. i was so upset because i felt like i was the only one happy about us getting married because our wedding is so far away and he was like who cares what they say or if they come as long as it's me and you there and you become my wife that is all that matters and he gave me a kiss on my forehead like he always does and he made me glad that next year i get to call him my husband.
