I feel like a high school girl with a crush...

KaylaP, on September 28, 2014 at 9:49 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 20

Practicing my new signature! I am going to the drivers license examiner and the SS office to change my name tomorow. And I cannot quit doodling my name with hubby's last name to make sure it looks alright on my drivers license!

Hahaha girl my FH and I have been together for 8 years... I've got my new signature down pat! I practice while I am at work all the time to make sure it flows naturally.

Something just doesn't flow right with an "ard" at the end. It looks goofy!!

I connect the last letter of my first name (A) to the first letter of my maiden name (B) so it flows nicely. If I do that with my married name (S) it looks like an 8! I have to keep practicing so I remember to make them separate words lol.

My main issue with my last name (besides the ard) is that it starts the same as my maiden. My maiden and married both start with P so I end up writing my maiden.

I have trouble with my new name because in the middle of my new last name I have I go from an o to an s and it's a weird transition. Half the time the o ends up looking like an a.

I go from an O to a double L then into the ard. It's a pain

I was so just doing that this morning! It's so much fun... I probably won't even have a chance to change my last name until thanksgiving or winter break... Smiley sad

I have been doing this and it's really fun! New name is also much easier to spell and pronounce than my maiden name, so I am looking forward to fewer mistakes and puzzled looks when someone tries to write or say it!

A WW post a few weeks back mentioned picking a new email address as another fun name activity, and I'm now the proud owner of chrissyp******@gmail.com! I didn't need a period or numbers or anything, which made me happy. Anyone else having fun with that?

Whenever I do change my last name, I am going from Smith to Chm------ski. My new last name will be a illegible scrawl because I can't write his last name fast.

Haha! I practice mine all the time!

The hardest part for me is that I'm so used to putting a 't' and my new last name has no letters that swoop up like that! It's so hard to make myself write it smoothly without thinking about it.

Thank goodness I have over 7 Months to practice hahaha

I thought it was fun before it was real and I had one day to get it perfected. Looks great when I just print it, but when i sign it, it looks dumb. My new e-mail had to have an underscore...Smiley sad

Northern, the standard for that situation is maiden name first, so doing the opposite may lead to confusion. People who don't know you might guess your husband is your brother if his name is what they assume to be your maiden name. Just a thought

I'm going from D to M. I've been practicing mine since last year and already opened a new email account. Once we're married, I'll close the old email and change my name on my Facebook and Twitter accounts as well.

Chrissy G to Chrissy P Smiley smile I think I will just have to get use to peoples confusion because I think I am going with his last name first and my last name last...and really just going by my last name.

I grew up with 2 last names (not hyphenated) and am use to confusion over what the dealo is with last names. Smiley smile

Going from a loopy scrawl to I have no clue. Leanne Ca****** to Leanne Pr**** no loops in the new one: I used my L to start my C and continued

I do this all the time! I think I have the signature down pretty smoothly but I keep getting stuck on my new initials. It's a scribbled mess. For my job I have to initial everything so I must keep practicing!

This is the one thing that's frustrating to me. My last name now starts with a D and I LOVE my cursive D's... I have K's though, future mrs. jkr is because his name is J. Kr*** (J is not all of his first name, but he doesn't like me putting his name on here
