Just Said Yes October 2021

i feel like I’ve lost the joy of wedding planning due to Covid-19

Laura, on March 27, 2020 at 1:10 AM Posted in Planning 1 6
My wedding is November 21, 2020 which I know is quite a while out but given the current circumstances and uncertainty I can’t make myself continue to plan.

The idea of (worst case scenario) postponing our wedding at the current stage is devastating much less if I continue to plan and chip away at my to do list. I just feel completely disheartened.
Not to mention, I’m crippled with fear that my dad who was recently diagnosed with lung cancer won’t be at my wedding. This was a huge weight on my heart even before this COVID-19 madness.
Sorry for the rant! Just feeling helpless and could use any advice, opinions, well wishes.

Try to keep POSITIVE and keep PLANNING. I honestly think you will be fine in November.
Keep up with the news ......and keep updated with your venue ....

I can understand your feelings of uncertainty. I won’t let myself entertain the idea of postponing just yet. Hoping this is all cleared up very soon. Jotting down ideas and going through Etsy and Pinterest has helped me to stay busy honestly. And forced me to narrow down some decisions I was previously struggling with. Sending prayers for continued health for your father. Sad news but I’m hoping he stays healthy and can ultimately recover from his diagnosis. Try to stay positive doll.

I'm Sorry About Your Father And His Cancer. I Will Pray For him And That He Is Able To be At Your Wedding.

I Do Think You Should Keep Planning As You Normally Would. That Way When You Get Close To Your Wedding Date You Aren't Scrambling To Get Things Done. Best Of Luck To You. Smiley heart

I feel the same way. I’m so close to being finished, only some finishing touches and a few last minute things on my to-do list. I don’t feel like doing them because I’m unsure if we will have to postpone. Last week I received some things I ordered for my bridal party before all this began and I just felt so sad. I’ve had to put my planning on hold because most of the things we can’t do right now because our city is on lockdown.

Oh Laura, I'm so sorry about your dad. That adds a whole other level of stress and worry on top of wedding planning. It's completely understandable if you need to put planning on hold right now and just focus on your family and other areas of your life. When you're ready to jump back into planning, we'll be here!
